I don’t eat any fast food stuff like KFC, Maccas, Hungrys anymore….not because it’s unhealthy (I still eat some junk) but because it just makes me feel sick and greasy. If I have KFC, guarantee the next day I’ll have a pimple or two. It’s just terrible stuff really.
And that double down just looks deadset disgusting!!

I had one for lunch and must say i was disappointed with it.
I asked for no BBQ sauce and got no BBQ sauce AND no bacon either. So it was just to pieces of chicken with a slice of cheese - really nothing for the media to write about. Still tasted good, but the bacon would have made it better. |

I want one so bad, but promised myself I would keep fast food down to an absolute minimum this year, not eat it at all if possible. |

Maccas can be a godsend to me at times, being on call as well as the potential of being stuck in a datacentre for an exceptionally long time.. A decent number of fast food joints are trying to offer some healthy alternatives. I find the chicken wraps at McDonalds quite satisfying. Seared Tandoori Wrap is ~1400kJ and very filling with a decent amount of protein. |

I work in supply chain and logistics for McDonalds/Keystone Foods...
so ill have to sus out the competition.... ill just ride my bike 30kms to some KFC, smash it, then ride home and burn this bad boy off. Even when i was working at a Maccas restaurant i ate very little maccas, went 6 months straight without the stuff and one stage, including all other fast food. Now that my role is floating.. i reckon i spend more time in te seat of my car than at my desk, fast food becomes so convenient.. and free maccas is... free. I try and behave lol but my cycling keeps me in check... unless im on a business trip :(

Thought I would make the comment that today as a reward to myself for taking a homemade lunch to work everyday for the last 2months I would get a grand chicken from macca's. Turns out there is more kj and fat in one of those than even the zinger double down. Probably would have been healthier to get a double down lol.

McDonalds Angus has more fat and fat isn't the only unhealthy thing, the ingredients in this burger are better quality than McDonalds. Is it healthier than the Angus but fact isn't good enough for these primative impulsive thinking small minded idiots. Reading reviews angered me even more, "they've replaced the bread with 2 appauling burger patties", no they haven't if that was the case there'd be a third pattie in the middle if you were infact just replacing the bread, it's not much of a burger with bread bacon and egg, I mean god damn it's basically a McChicken Deluxe with an extra pattie, and the McChicken Deluxe has bread on it too!! Ugh these stupid people need to die off so natural selection can take it's course, their stupidity has affected our progress for too long. EDIT: KFC Double Down: 540 Cals with 32 grams of fat. McDonalds Angus Burger with Bacon and cheese: 790 Cals with 39 grams of fat. BK’s Whopper with bacon and cheese: 770 Cals with 48 grams of fat!!

had one of each today...not bad, the original recipie one is a bit boring really. the zinger one's bettter & has the ''supercharged zinger sauce'' which is nothing on a zinger burger, but has a bit of bite in this one
if they called it ''8 bucks worth of chicken slathered in sauce'' it would make more sense. because that's exactly what it is. she's a bit messy without the bread...don't attempt to eat this one driving...lol i'll probably have a couple more before it goes away. |

Hiya aussies. The moral outrage over this burger has even reached kiwiland. But alas the burger itself hasnt. So can you please tell our evil corperate overlords to hurry the hell up and ship some over the ditch.
Us poor kiwis are doing it tuff on a starvation diet of mere whoppers and big macs. If i dont get one of these burgers soon, Im afraid my arteries might unclogg. The only way i could see this burger getting better is if they add a pork pattie, 3-4 slices of cheese and 3-4 beef patties and maybe a single slice of gurkin to appease the health nazis. How about the chardonnay socialists stick to clogging up the carparks of organic supermarkets with their SUVs while they buy gluten free tofu. Using the dividends from their husbands monsanto shares and leave the rest of us to make our own decisions. Good or otherwise. Because thats what freedom is |

Isn't it just cheese and some condiments inside 2 fillets of chicken?
While the 'burger' can't be ordered, I'm sure it would be easy to make one. |

Exactly. You've been able to walk into Nandos and order a classic double burger for as long as I have eaten there.
Two pieces of chicken, lettuce, tomato, sauce, bacon, cheese. No-one gave a hoot about that. Purely a media beat up as I said early on in this thread. |

The thing that gets me with stuff like this is the whole "limited time".
I try not to be too excessive with fast food these days, I really want to try one though. Thing is, I'll get hooked. So the once a fortnight I do have KFC, I'll want one of these from there, so will only get one or two. Why not just have all their stuff permanently on the menu?

As has been mentioned, it's the lesser evil of many popular burgers on sale everyday. We've all been fooled by the bread/bun. Remove that bun and it's time to call in ACA/Today Tonight.

They had them here in Canada though I'm not sure if they still do them. The thing was a major let down it appears huge in the picture but is so small in real life. Didn't even taste any good though I do find Aussie KFC is superior to what is on offer overseas

These are very overated. I tried 1 more before they are gone. This time I removed 1 piece of cheese and added pepper mayo instead of sauce. It was crap. Would have been much better in a bun with some lettuce.

I tried the zinger double the other day. It wasnt as great as I thought it would be. I much prefer the zinger bacon and cheese burger. I dont see these lasting long if thats how they are, repeat business will be very little.

Actualy looking forward to trying one out, just the once at least. Me and the wife havnt had takeaway for about 3 weeks going on 4. So i think i can endulge just once. We don't set out not to have any takeaway but I think you enjoy it all the more if it had not as often. Plus being Greek my mum always telling me to drop around after work and pick up dinner.
But I know complain.

I've lost 50 kg in 3 years of watching my diet. I still eat, and very rarely, Maccas. I find that not eating their fries helps me not to put weight on.
I will give it a go, with no chips. But, a good walk and a light jog will burn it off. |
