I know AWB may not have done the right thing, but after they got caught, farmers and transport companys have suffered. They may have sold it to Iraq and gave kick backs, but the stuff still got sold.

I have never had a problem with Telstra, though I only have a home phone connected with them.

St George Bank is another place I haven't had a problem with. Been with them for years and currently have three accounts and everything runs smoothly.

MBF Health Insurance is a company I'm having big problems with at the moment. They were supposed to pay my dentist from a visit I had to him over 3 months ago and three times they have sent the cheque to the address that he moved from 3 years ago. MBF won't acknowledge they have made a stuff up and won't fast track a replacement payment or explain how and why they stuffed up. And they keep putting the premiums up while taking away benefits. They make the Govt look competent.

To compare, iiNet/Agile were the first people to build a nationwide ADSL2+ network, something Telstra refused to do. Only after ADSL2+ gained footing, Telstra enabled ADSL2+ only in exchanges where competitors are currently selling it. So, in short, they screwed over anyone they COULD supply ADSL2+ to and aimed at the exchanges with competition already up and running.

Since Telstra was privatised nothing good has come out of it, and it hasn't lead in ANYTHING telecommunications wise. It was second to both Optus and Hutchinson for G3 and iiNet/Agile for ADSL2+. More recently they only just decided to "upgrade australias national infrastructure" when Optus/Singtel forwarded their plans to the Government

There were no other competitors back then. It was also government back then. Times have changed.

Anti-competitiveness. That's a fairly bad corporate image to have...

Everything I have said so far is just from the ISP side of their business. I could rant on about their currently handling of their telecommunications infrastructure if I wanted to but that would deserve it's own thread.

So, as for the threads original question

1) Telstra
2) Liberal Government (Federal)

They just seem outdated. That combined with their attacks on the new Labor leader having almost no effect with public opinions. Not doing too well at all :P
Well luckily you are now old enough to vote so you can save us all..........

Channel 10, , the way they always start AND finish an ad break advertising their own shows ?

Win Tv, , case the LOSERS dont record the local news with a 16x9 camera, , they still use and broadcast in 4x3. AND they rebroacast channel 9 programs and stick their GAY solid win logo overf the channel 9 logo... they really really suck the most.............

HP, , cause they have the WORST customer service ( hewlett packard )

Ergon Energy, , HOPELESS customers service. wont talk to you unless you give them your account number ?

Greenpeace, and any other Tree Huggers

All of the unions, as they suck employees in to paying money and then return them with 5HIT representation.

Motorola, , cause more than 50% of their mobile phones break or fail within 12 months. ( this is true ! )

BTW,

Had a young Optus door to door guy try to lure me into giving Telstra "another chance" to prove that coming back to them is a good idea. I told him of the current Optus offer and he didn't believe they could actually offer that. I assured him that they could, showed him the paperwork and he literally started backing away saying "there's no way we can match that!"

Thumbs up Congratulations TELSTRA

So far you win hands down, Arrogant, Poor service and high fees.
Congratulations, you deserve the title having worked extremely hard for it and it appears you are not giving up the title without a fight.
Just to show I am unbiased I'm awarding you an Elephant stamp for getting your Billing infastrusture correct.
I'm sick of the "bini num-nums" ringing asking me to go back.
Telstra must losing customers "big time" and as the "oldies" fall off their perch the trend is bound to continue.
I advise friends to look around, and.......... I have shares with the b******s

Telstra ?

They're not great but to say they are the worst is rubbish.

Lets put things into perspective.

The winner by 50 light years is James Hardie Ltd. The company that evaded paying compensation to Asbestos Victims even though it knew it was liable AND guilty !!

The Australian government pursued legal avenues to bring James Hardie Ltd to financial accountability, for being responsible for vast numbers of asbestos related deaths and illnesses in Australia and other countries. JH Ltd used unethical and possibly criminal ploys to avoid compensating victims.

THAT my friends was a deliberate corporate policy by it's board, and therefore gives them the worst corporate image of all IMO !!

Do a google on "james hardie asbestos" if you don't believe me.

I do not live in a capital city and want ADSL; Everyone except telstra/resold telstra wholesale, TID/Bigpuddle, yes
I do not live in a capital city and want ADSL2+; Widelinx (local boutique ISP)/yes, everyone else except telstra/no, TID/Bigpuddle, yes
I do not live in a capital city and want to make a complaint to a local person in a local office who can and will actually help me (not a franchaised shop with a 17 year old kid trying to sell me extra text messages) about my communications problems; OPTUS/no, Voda/no, 3/no, Telstra, yes

I live in Hervey Bay, a regional city with a strong tourism based economy and one of the fastest growing areas in Australia. I have ADSL2+ @ 14Mb/s, HSDPA @ 4Mb/s and extensive 3G mobile voice/video covereage.
There is no way I could have this other than on Telstra, everyone else refuses to offer these services.

As far as I am concerned Telstra is GREAT.
And so they bloody well should, our tax dollars paid for the infrastructure that is making that Mexican POS a multi-millionare for sitting on his lazy and screwing the population over...

Telstra are really good at looking after Telstra, if you're with another another provider, they do everything in their power to screw you over...

To the bloke that said they quoted 4-6 days to get your internet connected, Telstra wholesale customers have to wait 10-14 BUSINESS days (2-3 weeks) to get connected.

These for the most part are companies that cannot afford to do their own infrastructure, the big ones like Optus do have their own....

The bottom line as far as I'm concerned, the amount of uncompetitive practices I hear about from them (Anyone ever been called from them? I got call last week offering $200 cash and a holiday to come back to them) and the crap that they've put me and people I know through to be connected, and then you get a "random" phone call asking if you're happy with your current provider...

James hardy are scum too, they knew the dangers of asbestos a long time before they started doing anything about it....

It was Channel 7, because Family Guy was on a Thursday night at 10:30. Because The Footy Show (on 9) is so crappy now after the first hour, I'd watch Family Guy.

Mark Phillipousis is a drop-kick. He could play tennis but couldn't keep his hands out of his pants and to make things worse, they gave him his TV show and took off some quality TV in Family Guy.

Telstra is the only phone company that provides decent mobile phone reception outside of the big cities and towns and that is how it has been for years and years. Telstra also has Telstra shops in decent sized towns. All of the other phone companies are just after the rich pickings in the highly populated areas.

That said, my vote goes to James Hardies. What they did was apalling.

Tell that to reisdents and businesses of regional SA who until Agile (Internode) installed ADSL equipment we're left stuck on Dial up internet access. As far as I know even years on Telstra do not service ADSL in some of those areas.

I'd also call Telsta anti-competative by charging rediculous prices for wholesale access to lines and also rediculous pricing for IP traffic that goes through it's network, eg. it is cheaper (for the ISP) to download a 1GB file from the US or somewhere else overseas than it is to download it from somewhere else in Australia.

I keep getting told Aussie Post it crap, along with AAE. I'm always getting people complaining to me that a letter from Brisbane to Canberra takes 5 days yet a 25kg box from Singapore to Canberra can take 3 days.

Funny thing for me is my telstra cdma phone gives me SFA coverage on my property in the central west of NSW,it will only pick up intermitently on one ridge above the house, while my vodaphone "city based" mobile gets a heap more coverage,it picks up reception all the way to the newell highway..
The cdma is fine in town 15km away, work that one out.

As for the worst corporation in AUS?

Macquarie bank gets my vote, government corrupting leaches....
