Yeah the diff looks very over engineered, strange as you generally try to reduce unsprung weight for improved handling.

Looks pretty similar to me like alot of other rear ends built to handle high HP, but this ones also built to handle.

Well at least they re-built the coupe without reshelling it, but i think he has built the car to handle some serious hp and overdisigned pretty much every part...strenghted chassis would be on the list aswell.

why is everyone questioning rego as long as you dont let it lapse you wouldnt have to worry about re-rego and roadworthy thats how 99% of modified cars are rego'd

Good to see its back love that rear end work of art

How do you plan on keeping it registered then if it stays off the road for longer than a year?

Victoria is not the same as NSW, as in, we don't need yearly inspections on cars.

My understanding is, as long as you pay the rego, doesn't matter if you drive it or not. Happy to be corrected on that though.

Cheers

Thats how it is here, and I hope it doesn't change because of that VACC guy continually campaigning for annual useless inspections to give his members more business. The only way I would accept annual inspections, is to set up independent drive thru vehicle inspection centres where vehicles can run through, who are not connected to any repair workshops.

Regarding the rear end of EB's XB, I would think a bit of weight in the back would be OK, as it would also give a bit more traction and better front-rear weight distribution.

Yeah in Victoria as long as its registered in your name and you keep paying the rego you'll never need to RWC it unless of coarse you get defected or something or wish to sell vehicle or transfer into anothers name. Its good in a way for those of us who look after their cars and have modified vehicles but its also bad as there are some real shitters on the road.

No yearly inspections in Queensland, though we are continually told how wonderfully it works in other states, and how it means only "safe" cars are on the road...which doesn't really explain the registered rusty knocked-around crapbuckets we see up here with southern licence plates on them...

In an article on tv recently Bana said that if the car was not a re-shell, it would be rebuilt. Apparently it was not a re-shell. I wonder how much of it is still original Ford? Not much from what I see and hear. Still, very impressive and that's what it's all about I guess. I just remembered the tv show I saw the clip on. Bana did a guest spot on That car show with the Stig. They tried to shame Bana by showing his damaged car. He then told them it would be rebuilt if it did not need a re-shell.

And how much money did he have to spend on the rest of the car to get it roadworthy again?

I hope they make another documentary about its resurrection.

He's clearly not spending money just to make it roadworthy though.
