Well, I'm kinda stoked, entered the Mondeo into the SA All Ford Day in the 4 cylinder class and took out best 4 cylinder - in a class that also included XR5 Turbo vehicles.

Guess I'll have to do some sort of modding to it now - just so its not exactly the same next year!

As silly as this sounds, I was too lazy to pull the camera out all day, so didn't take any photos :( :( :(

But hopefully someone has, and when they start turning up I'll post a couple

Well done, the Mondeo looks good in black with tints. Did it look the same as in your photo in this thread?

Yeah it did - nothings changed since that picture apart from custom plates now on it (which you can't see in that pic anyway).

I had a look, seems they've put me under "Focus/Fiesta" section winner, was actually 4Cyl winner. Oh well!

Good work Rik. And to think you didnt have to mod the car with fancy neons or bodykits to win. LOL

Does anyone know if Ford does genuine mudflaps for the current titanium. I'm getting mixed messages from ford due to the body kit.

Cheers

Thanks Shav

I feel a little guilty, it was the first full wash, dry down and spray over with the Ultimate Quik Detailer since AFD. Normally it just gets a wash and air dried and doesn't come up looking anywhere near as good as it does when I spend the time on it, but unfortunately I don't get a lot of time to spend :(

But when its clean, it looks a million dollars

Totally. that's why people like black cars. they just look classy.

Speaking of classy. I've got the go ahead to look at a lease car and a xr5t mondeo is on the short list.

Nice Shav, very nice.

If you do it, I wouldn't mind you taking me for a spin in it so I can feel the difference. Also, a photoshoot would be mandatory with both cars together.

I thought lease cars had to be pretty much new though? They're not making the XR5T anymore as far as I was aware.

Lease cars are usually not more than three years old I think. And there's a provision that they have to be a certain number of years old at the end of the lease period.

I'm with Bank of Melbourne, and that's what I was told. Could be different for other lease companies.

That's correct. With some lease companies, you can have a car up to 5 years old, but its rare. An up to 3yo second hand car is still considered 'newish' and they will grant it.

Im gonna start another thread asking for unbiased opinions later on regarding the car choices Ive made prior to purchase.

Good work Shav.

Like I've said before, anytime you want to have a look or a play at a Mondeo give us a yell, more than happy to bring mine around for you. Such a pleasant car I wouldn't have any hesitation at all in recommending
