If they brought something like the Suburban here for a reasonable price, I'd jump at it.
But no, we get another boring sedan.
Cruze is a small car, same segment as Focus, Mazda 3, I30, Pulsar / Tiida etc.

15 years ago, it would have probably been considered medium.

Of course a fwd fanboy would say this, but I think you are grossly underestimating what rwd means to Commodore and its buyers. Devereux himself said that rwd is ingrained in Commodore's DNA, so if Holden thinks they can just slap a Commodore badge on some front wheel drive abomination and expect it to sell, they've got another thing coming. Hell would freeze over before I ever considered one and I'm sure the majority would feel the same way.

I would suggest you point that spray towards yourself and press... You never contribute to any discussion here, all you do is post silly pictures and pointless one liners.....

Dear Australian Commodore buyer,

As there won't be another locally designed RWD car, please accept this facsimile which we hope will fill the gap in our line up once our beloved Commodore joins Falcon at the pearly gates.

We have recently restyled our Commodore to look almost identical to Malibu so most of you may not notice when Commodore exits stage left.

Sincerely yours,

Holden.

Except for the fact that there is every chance the next commodore could either be based off the Impala, or the Alpha platform that underpins the Cadillac range, and the next Camaro...

For the sake of Rwd fans, I hope you're right. I think it will be fwd and not made here.

Yanks go fwd because its 100x more predictable and safer in low traction conditions than rwd.

I've experienced this, I do a lot of dirt road driving in my EL which is my first RWD car and you've gotta take it much easier than compared to my fleet of FWD cars.

Its alright on the straight section which are even, no sloping to a side or off camber corners, but it doesn't take much to unsettle it or have the *** end let go on you.

Reason I use the EL is it has much higher ground clearance than my WS Fiesta and my lowered Focus, I used to use the Focus before it was lowered, now I can't as much as go into a mates backyard without banging crap under the car.

Couldn't fault it. Looked well put together. Everything open closed firmly. Bigger than I expected, big boot and 60/40 split. electric park button is on passenger side console, shows its american heritage. Seats firm.. Couldn't take it for a drive, only one on the floor..more stock arriving soon..but impressed. Capped price servicing is $185 every 15,00kms. Problem is, too many cars on the market!!!
