I see it in a different light. We can look at the cars and realise that they are merely just 'stages' in our life. And we should never get too emotionally attached to them as you never know when stuff like this may happen and then, well, it just breaks your heart :(.

now i really wish i had a picture of one of my old highschool teachers when he rolled the minibus on camp off the side of a steep hill :P
he decided he could tow a trailer up a steep hill and soon found out the wheels just spin. so in his effort to turn around or reverse back or something. he managed to go off the side of the road and roll the bus a few times.
that was years ago and untill the day i left the story was still being told every year.

Its hard where he lives. After the car was repaired, he hit another cracking the front bar. It stayed like this and was repaired by the dealership after he traded it. His new F6 has also hit a roo. Been repaired as only minor cracking around the mounts of the bar and the bonnet was slightly bent in 1 corner. Its a visious circle.

Traveling inbound on the Monash at 12am going 100kmph, lady in a Laser rams the Fiesta from behind, makes me swerve then comes back and collects my side. Was guessing she was traveling way faster than I was. Called police to the scene and pressed charges against her.


Late night, behind my friend at the lights. He edges forward and I mistake that for taking off. Took my foot off the gas (auto) and rolled into him.

What lane (left/middle/right or left/right, and was the weather clear?

Was the other driver blind or simply not paying attention??

This is from my brother's crash on the atherton tablelands. It's a late model commodore wagon that only had several thousand k's. It was a hire car :

He went off the edge of the road while playing with the dash controls and hit a culvet with cruise set on 110kmh. Flipped end on end twice and rolled sideways several more times. The front drivers door was bent back to the bonnet so he had no trouble getting out! Injuries included bruise from seatbelt and fat lip from airbag. Sorry for the quality of photos, they were taken with his phone that he found wedged under the rear seat.

And yes he did pay for "extra" insurance cover.

Whilst not a sedan or coupe, compare how much less the roof is crushed compared to say ummm, the Skyline pic taken earlier in thread under similar circumstances.

Euros tend to have under their regs high roof crush resistance (ECE), they are then adopted for world administration (UNECE), the east asian makes are or sorry, were not made to such requirement. Nippon makes increasingly so - as that place adopts better requirement.

The Americans are toughening up their roof crush strength requirements right now.
