Just a quick chop on paint. Perhaps those with better photoshop skills could improve. I think the XR looks better with the chrome G6E grill than the normal honeycomb style.

^^^ Territory has had door grab handles since 2004.

The Falcon door cards are unchanged.

For me all the 8 needs is the black ICC surround from factory.

Then dark tint, lowered with a 4k stainless KPM zaust front to back with a moderate tune!

Rightly so, the turbos might have often performed better, but they were never meant to be seen as the premium performance models. I'm glad the XR8 still looks the top of the tree. I'm sure we'll see some FGX turbo buyers put XR8 bonnets on their 6s for a more upmarket look.

If these pictures had come up 6 months ago when we were visiting this thread every few hours for a spy pic would we have been enthralled and excited? I think Ford should have released them a few months ago to measure reaction as what I see is a clever blend of the FG with a 'global Ford' front end. Call it 'a composite with a hint of laziness'. Just my humble opinion.

You mean like from ~2010 to now when the XR8 wasnt around?

The base XR6 is pretty much entry level these days so it would be nice for the XR6T to have had something other than a red 6.

Funny how all of the shots are of the front end?

My 2 cents, they have released them to early for a dec launch. Impulse buyers will be long gone by then let alone 6 months ago.

Saving the best till last though, no XR8 engine specs. Good job FoMoCoAu.

What gets me is that people are only thinking about THEIR skills. What about the soccer mum who borrows her husband's XR6 and doesn't look properly? Maybe the system could have alerted her and saved her bacon (and the poor sod she runs off the road).

You may think that 'real men don't need safety gadgets', but what is the harm in having them? And what is the harm in ensuring that other drivers around you, who may not have your mad racing skillz and awesome reflexes, can be made safer drivers too?

Just like the whole auto vs manual decision. We all have different opinions.

And who cares...turn off the aid if your hectic..otherwise for 99.9% of the time they are there as aids...its not mandatory.

wrong time wrong place for this debate but none the less.

With these driver aids they should be treated as backup, you do not want drivers to rely on them all the time. (and they will )

The correct skills still need to be taught and encouraged.

Acceptance is not an issue here with technology.
Though when I turn DSC off so my feet n hands ultimately control the car not the ECM and I look in the mirrors before a quick glance at the cluster (not HUD) to overtake I start to feel like a real driver should, but then I start to feel IGNORANT so I pull up and 2 point reverse park without electric aid.

Call me old school but I bet I'm not the only one on here that believes some driving aid technology is creating more bad drivers on our roads that we all have to deal with.

It's a catch-22. Some drivers will be hopeless no matter what, and these systems will help. Others may become reliant on them and become more of a danger than before. Basically, you can't fix stupid. It's up to each and every driver to look out for themselves, and be vigilant 24/7.

Just wanted to properly confirm to assure customers that it has because many were put off thinking it didn't have one

I knew from that XR8 on the production line that it did, just wanted to be more exact

After seeing it I the flesh the other day, I still reckon the fg2 front looks better. The Fgx is too 'frumpy' at the front. To be honest if I was in a position to buy a new xr8 , I would be looking at a low Kms gt, I much prefer the look of the gt. Just my opinion though.

Pffft...No, Thankyou, however I prefaced my comment with "IF", and in the context of an "indication". Any even moderately literate person would appreciate I was not making a definitive statement.

Maybe I'm getting old but the G6E looks the goods. Like the FG2 IMHO the other front ends are just too 'plastic' looking. Ouch did I say that? Lemme check my grey count.

Completely different class of safety features. Lane change assist is designed as a way to warn drivers of their blind-spots IF they happen to miss something when they look.

You've said that it is unnecessary to turn your head to look, which means you're relying solely on the driving aids. NO driver should ever do that! Only a moron would rely on that in day to day driving.

So I guess when you slam into the side of a car because this 'driver aid' failed and didn't tell you there was a car right next to you, and you didn't turn your head, you won't be responsible then...
Good luck explaining that to the insurance company, or the other cars family if you send them into an oncoming car or tree...

Couldn't agree more. More info on the Falcon range released and everyone is ****ing in a cup about safety features and how they should drive. Once again we find a way of derailing the thread and taking the focus off the Falcon. So after all the **** has settled. Is it what you are chasing and are you going to put your money where your mouths have been?

Hopefully I'll see you guys at a dealer when I put my deposit down on a XR8 next March.

QFT. I'll probably be buying around that time too - March-June next year. I might go for the regular XR6 or stretch for the turbo if I can though. I think the V8 will be out of my price range.
