Makes me think of my ol man . Neighbours bought a new 180b sss ,, Quite an elderly couple that only drove it to the compound ,, 3 k’s daily ,, And Friday night it drove to the small village town ,,” now a lot bigger “ ,,,8ks for shopping . The lady passed and my dad bought it off them with low low k’s . Was babied by the old fart ,, Did virtually the same trips ,, due to working at the same prison as the orig owner ,, Bar our annual round tassie trip . Had to wash/detail it every weekend . Was sposed to be passed down to me ,, But the mongrel bastard traded it for a Volvo brick ,,, My woodwork teacher at school’s one ,, Mongrel |

In the "old" days, families used to cherish their cars more than today.
You can tell because all the old photo albums are full of people standing by their cars for photos. The cars were a part of the family. I still take photos of our cars, particularly when we are traveling. Our holiday snaps always feature the car that took us on the trip. |

Don't know about not seen much by the 2 spotted today. Popped in for lunch and what pulls in, in front, an immaculate 82 WB. We had a great chat about all things panel vans, bought new, full reg, one owner.
n.b. Even had the left side only optional window. Another WB. A one tonner across the road.

Saw a WB ute myself yesterday. Base level with pressed-steel grille, circular headlights and original wheels with the Commodore-styled centre caps. On original Garden State plates and appeared to be in normal service.

Nearby there's a Peugeot GTi 1.9; it was under a tarp, but not now. Have seen other modern 'classics' there before.

G'day all ... A really good mate at our local golf and bowls club arrived the other night in a 1937 fully restored Austin 10... It's gorgeous , runs sweet too and he went halves in it with his son . Also Glenn has a magnificent Cologne V6 Capri . I think it's 1975 . His son also has a 1990 Capri..Doen't even see them around very often these days .
Not that rare just yet but every Friday night at the club we have a two course meal for $15 (main and sweets) and we get quite a few calling in for a meal and a few drinks to start the weekend off and one of my work mates who recently retired after 38 years in his job is going to look at a 2016 FGX XR6 on Tuesday . He had a deposit on a new Focus ST for about a year and was informed a month ago that they will not be able to provide him with that now, weird but true . He contacted into the dealership the other day to sort it all out when he was told about the kinetic blue XR6 that had just come in for sale . It has only 8,300 kms on it and the old chap who bought it optioned it with the tow pack , tech stuff and Olivier has booked a test drive in a couple of days . He's a Ford guy , owned V8 XB's and XC's and three Ford Focus's since I've known him but never a six .. Was telling him he should be impressed with the car . They are asking about $35,000 for it . Started me thinking that the FGX and even FG 's not built it huge numbers are going to become rare beasts far quicker than other models over time maybe ? .. These days I see more Mustangs on our roads here in Tassie than I do FGX's as odd as that may sound . If Liv buys it , I'll be looking forward to seeing it . Cheers .. |

Tuesday odd car spots included a modded Smart Fortwo, a seventies Kombi, an eighties/nineties Kombi and a mustard colour Hillman Hunter with black vinyl roof. As I was driving and it was a distance away, couldn’t tell if it was a Royale - looked well-kept regardless.

This morning: a circa-1975 Corona sedan, white, with B/W personalised plates.
(Looking at pics on the net to see what year it was I saw a couple of pics of station wagon Coronas with roof racks. Years ago a friend had a new Corona wagon with factory racks; it must have been a newer model than the one I saw today. He went to the Melbourne zoo once, came back out to the car park and someone had removed the racks ...... ) |

There's a really nice late 60's split window Kombi next door to where we are staying.

Had a relatively rare sight today… neighbors dad was over… elderly gent in a BA1 Futura… dark blue (can’t remember the colour name) with Grey interior… one owner, 120k km full ford service history… absolutely mint down to the paint and even the alloys…. Bloody beautiful condition…. Had a decent chat with him, copped a bit of stick for having a Holden in the garage… didn’t have my phone with me as I was mowing the lawn but I’ll try get some photos next time he is there…

In front yard of a house I regularly walk past there was a Toyota (Ultima?) Seca this morning; blue colour; looks to be in fairly good condition; no reg; first time I have seen it there.

There was a Silver P6 LTD at Coles Donvale (Melbourne Easter Suburbs) this evening, club plates.
The driver was leaving as I drove into the Car Park. |

Yesterday in Bulleen: XR Falcon ute on B/W full reg plates probably the original plates, looking super original, white, venetian blind, tarp, mud flaps (on rear at least), 'Fordomatic 3.S' badge on tail gate (I guess that's '3.S' for three speed auto and not '3.5' for 3.5 litres?)

Yep all XR on had 3 spd autos. The last of the XPs also had the 3 spd auto. The 6 cyl and early V8 XR autos were BW35 then the V8 BW got dropped for the C4 which was labeled the Cruiso.O Matic..The base manual XRs had a non synchro first gear, but that got dropped, then they were all full synchro manual
