16? How does a 16 year old own an FG MkII
Anyway, I intend on going over the weekend in the city. As for the fuel consumption figures, they're far from accurate in "real world" urban driving. Anyone with a BA or BF/FG (even with the ZF) will never attain under 11l/100km/h driving in Melbourne traffic and constantly at lights!

Rear wing, wider and stickier tyres on the XR6 would contribute to poorer economy.

Poorer economy is more due to shorter trips being made, and stop start traffic at traffic lights etc due to the heavier Falcon having to accelerate to speed each time from zero. |

The XR6 uses an extra 10% more fuel on the extra urban (highway)cycle than the base model.
This can only be attributed to the poorer aero and tyres with more rolling resistance. I remember reading that the rear wing on the VE SV6/SS contributed as much as .3L/100km to the highway cycle. Notice how big the wing is on the VF...

That's a pretty blunt front end its got their attractive and aggressive it is, but I doubt it does the aero numbers a favour. Realistically, are they that bad? Not really, but not a possibly expected improvement. Manual was down on ZF in FG for my GS at least...knew that didn't care. But I achieve the quotes figures. Not like some vehicles

So the engine's are pretty much the same are they? ECU recalibration? I doubt the FG-X would be any lighter then the FG...so the efficiency gains must be through some ECU tweaking.

Does the xr6 still get the shorter diff ratio? That could be some of that 10% |

Manual and auto diffs are different ratio, otherwise its the same across the range.
I think its been that case since the introduction of the ZF.

Yeap Id say there might be some colours that would be XR and G only (like the gold XR only?).
Although early B series didnt seem to discriminate. Would be nice if they let original buyers pick what they want from a list and not be dictated too.

You could always PM one of the people going to the launch on Fri to ask the question there.

I guess the problem will be that if numbers are limited those wanting to order one may not be able to choose the colour they want.

I went to the website earlier today and saw the colours but as there isnt any info on XR8 yet didnt know about colours. When and where is the launch on Friday. I guess if there is any new colours they will be on web shortly.

Great value for the XR8.
I think anyone who has put a deposit down will be very happy with those final prices.

The XR8 is the performance bargain of 2015. No excuse for sitting on fence now. My deposit goes down next week.
