Ah I thought you were comparing BA XR8 to BA GT....my bad...in saying that BA GTs are indeed actually much cheaper than FG XR8s.

Heard on the radio this morning Holden are doing pretty good deals on the entire Commodore range for Bathurst (deal extends only to the month of Oct). Free onroad costs basically.
Might be a good bargaining point to get a little off the xr8 |

I don't agree that a BA GT is much cheaper than an FG XR8. With both cars some are high some are low, here are two examples from middle of the road with similar km's almost identically priced yet 4-5 years apart in age. Interestingly the lows and highs match up quite well too, the GT is not "much cheaper". It probably wasn't 100% correct to say they command a premium, but when you consider their age they kinda do. BA GT, $22 500, 91 000kms http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...?Cr=15&sdmvc=1 FG XR8, $22 900, 80 000kms http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...?Cr=10&sdmvc=1 Here are the outliers, I'd say the top end are dreaming in both classes. Lowest BA GT, $14 999, 250 000kms http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d.../?Cr=1&sdmvc=1 Highest BA GT, $37 990, 125 000kms (probably dreaming) http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...?Cr=23&sdmvc=1 Lowest FG XR8, $16 990, 150 000kms http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d.../?Cr=0&sdmvc=1 Highest FG XR8, $37 990, 91 000kms (probably dreaming) http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...?Cr=33&sdmvc=1

I wonder what the realistic amount of XR8's will produced? 1500-2000? I'd imagine there is a limit on how many engines are available...

I think you will find the $57,490 about right the other price is the dealer trying to cash in a bit

What kind of sales figures do people expect the FGX to peak at per month?. Would Ford potentially up production if demand dictated so?

Price is very impressive. I was convinced it was going to be 60k RRP. 52 is a bargain. Too bad hardly anyone will be able to get one.

Just got home from the XR8 Launch. Great evening put on by FORD. Will put some more pics up tomorrow as a bit stuffed but all I can say at the moment .......... freaking hell
In the flesh, they are stunning. Pics do not do it justice. The front is tough and angry, the rear is subtle and modern. The lights make such a statement and even the inside, even though still FG, the changes also make a difference. Will put some more pics up tomorrow ..... exciting stuff

Probably the same car that was in the video that details how they cover up the cars for public testing...

Is the rear wing on that blue XR8 just a carry over XR one from the previous model or a new one? Kinda like the way it sits just above the top of the rear quarter panels like the old school GT ones did.

Does anybody know the address of the place where the cars are on display this weekend and if so is it open to the public across the whole weekend?
