Am 6'3" and have more room in FG than our 530i wagon, and it's good.
Love the FG, so an FGX can only be better, surely.....

Completely agree. 6ft 3" myself, same at Full_Monty and I have a perfect position. Steering wheel is completely extended as I have long legs which means the seat is far back. Could be better, but personally, I like it better than the VF! Just couldn't get comfortable in one. Perhaps that was the suede though.... |

So what is the go with the Support the new 2014 Ford Falcon facebook page saying
"Don't trust the dealers and rumours, enough XR8's will be made for the demand. Ford are well aware this will be the best selling model in the lineup so treat yourself to one seriously remarkable and bargain priced car!" When plenty of people on here including my self have been told by different dealers across australia limited supply of 1200 being made! just ****** me off that someone could miss out because of this facebook page! |

So Callum how about you provide some better info than "someone on the inside said they will build as many as people order"?
There are plenty of "someones on the inside" here saying supply will be limited by the speed at which the engines can be made and the total number of transmissions available. We know from the GTF that they had to stockpile engines to build 670 cars over a 4 month period. That's just 8 cars a day assuming 20 production days per month. Lets extrapolate that to 2 full years of building XR8's and assume a stockpile of 100 engines exists already. 24 months at 20 days a month production and 8 cars a day. That's at an absolute maximum 3940 cars they can possibly build, lets assume this is the absolute best case scenario where all the bits and pieces are available. There are always limiting factors! Now lets go back to what some of the people here have said. Quote:
There are limitations no matter what if 4000 people want XR8's I think some will be disappointed even under the best scenario. It's probably not wise to publicly advise people there will be plenty of cars available as you have no possible way to guarantee them that!! If I were you giving advice I'd er on the side of caution and say "there very well may be some limitations so even if you don't want one for a while put your name against one of the future builds to guarantee it."

I suspect the lighting of the photo's back a page might not be the best for working out the shade of grey. On some of the day light photo's I saw it looked like it was perhaps smoke coloured.
Auto XR6T's may still be limited by total numbers of ZF's.

Sorry Blem wasn't playing FGX ringmaster I meant the easily accessible 9" rears. Dash/Smoke Im sure there would be enough takers to have a bit of cross swapping if sets of four have to be purchased Id like to get a set of factory's back in the ute one day but couldn't go back to the skinny 8s on the rear after 10s

All models will be limited to the number of buyers they have. Pretty simple really. Transmission this, engine that. There will be plenty for GENUINE buyers.

I dunno mate, if I really wanted one (new) I'd personally be putting money down. This whole situation is not normal and it will be hard to tell how it's going to pan out.

I like the subtle change ford have done to the seats (eg. XR embroidery and 2 tone stitching) but they seem overall bland still for a 2014 car. But overall a nice car and I hope it does sell well.

My dealer told me 1200 XR8's. 46 a month .
Then Bossxr8 said 46 a month also. Now Brickyard's dealer is telling him 1200 also It's seems 1200 is a common number |

At RRP I think they would have sold 1200 GTF's. At the inflated prices some were gouging no.

All you guys saying how you can't understand how someone either shorter or about the same height as you having troubles with the seating position have no idea about anthropometrics do you?
Overall height is simply one of many measurements that come in to play. I used to use anthropometric data in assessing the suitability of pilots for ejection seat occupation. Craig H

This 'facebook page' met the Ford executives in person the other night, as mentioned the stock pile of the ZF Transmissions isn't really anything to worry about, being a company as big as they are it's not too hard to find another type of transmission. It's a no brainer, as if they expect to sell only 1,200?? They all know the demand is fairly high for it. And I made sure they were aware of the demand.
If they knew that they only had 1,200 autos and they properly knew the demand they wouldn't have to market it. It's not a FPV built GT guys... |

Callum they can't just jam a different transmission in the car it takes development and testing... which exec said they would do that? what is their name?

So you don't want to respond to legit concerns about them sourcing a different transmission? They will not switch transmission mid build, wait and see. The exec who said that has no clue about engineering.
You also haven't addressed engine build speed, but that's all ok and as intelligent people we are just to accept it. not likely. This sounds like the sports pack to me... what happened to that again?
