Highly doubt it. They don't even have auto windows up or down in FG.

As for the centre light comment earlier, they shouldn't need to change the rear windscreen to alter the light. Every form of lighting should be LED now.

Hopefully the styling does pay off. Certainly gearing up to be a bigger change in looks than BF2 -> FG was.

Well aware of that and it's been a feature since at least EA days.

That's 1980s technology to have driver window only auto down...

Default 2014 Falcon Sneek Peak

Heading over the west gate this afternoon, not the best shot, my phone was a bit dirty, defiantly mondeo (ish) tail lights.

Didn't get to see the front or interior, covered with camo anyway, side indicators were taped up too, doors and everything look the same.

is it possible antenna is only there for the equipment they may have in the car? either way, its no big deal. if it improves reception for those who can't live without ****y gadgets then i guess it will be accepted.

That's what I was thinking. If the rear screen isn't going to change, then its safe to assume the on-glass antenna will stay.

To fool people

Will possibly have a similar rear end to the VF based on that (at least in the separate lights sense) and looks like they're going for a bee sting type of antenna on the roof as well.

are you one of these people who do everything one handed as a gadget is permanently fixed in the other hand?

call me a fuddy dud, but at least while i'm in my car i'm concentrating on the job at hand. at least with buttons on the centre console you can adjust by feel. not so with a touch screen, you have to look at what you are doing.

here's a interesting question,

if there were 2 cars of the same make and model, except one had all the techo gadgetry that the kids seem to like these days (connectivity, online music, touch screen etc) and one had just a std interior but the 'technology' was in the way of passive and active safety, which do you think would sell better??

some of the technology (passive and active safety) in trucks these days makes cars look quite primitive. i think thats because they aren't trying to sell vehicles to those trying to keep up with trends, but rather to people trying to earn a living and make sure they get home at the end of each day. car manufacturers seem to be more concerned with sales dollars.

You can have bluetooth, an audio system, a reverse camera, proximity sensors, navigation etc. Without touching them while driving. Unless you have serious issues with self control I can't see why is a safety issue.

To which market? Families would (I hope) opt for a safer vehicle. Should people throw their classics in the bin though because it doesn't have an airbag and thinks a crumple zone is the drivers face... I don't think so.

Volvo and Mercedes have some pretty impressive safety features... That won't filter down to the average motor car for another 10 years.

I would say the model with the gimmicky gadgets. The only thing I found missing from my FG was bluetooth audio streaming, but that was fixed for $10 with a dongle from ebay.

I appreciate the DARPA pics. More technology and R&D in that donkey than we'll ever see in a Falcon.

I think it's ridiculous that while you can be fined for using your phone, it's perfectly okay to fumble with a touch screen. Hopefully FH doesn't push the driver into using the touch screen like myFord Touch tends to. I'm not a fan of touch screen at all, but I give a big thumbs up to how Holden have implemented their touch screen in the VF interior- in that you don't need to use the stupid thing. Everything has a physical button or knob, so the touch screen never needs to be used when driving. Some of the newer Fords in the US are not only using touch screens, but also touch sensitive buttons so you have to look down every time you want to adjust something. It's ludicrous.

Regarding gadgets, the only ones that I'd like to see in FH are blind spot indicators in the mirrors and keyless start so you can get some temp into the car before you leave in the morning.

As long as Bluetooth is active on phone, press phone button on steering wheel and it should pair phone without needing to use ICC menu or start pairing process for non registered phone. Of course you still need to enter a pin on the phone.

And now this thread has some new photo's and comments from those in the know to re focus as disheartened fans.

From the level of poorly constructed arguments devoid of any factual information beyond; "it's my opinion and I'm right so there" - to the thinly veiled hatred of ford products because they're "unpatriotic" is an embarrassment.
Seriously, people who have never owned an FG talking about how bad they are to own? Come on.

I've been a member since 2005 and frankly, whilst things such as the project cars are good, I've noticed a steady increase in the number of trolls, and the number of members ready to crucify others for perceived mistakes or misjudgements.
To illustrate the point, since Ford has announced their decision to close local manufacturing in Australia there was a resurgence of the parochial bogan who called Ford traitors to the free world. These same people argued that Ford should "market their cars, and they'll sell" - completely devoid of any business acumen which would otherwise suggest that perhaps one needs money to advertise. That and the market has changed for dozens of reasons from government fleets, to fuel prices, green schemes, unions etc etc.
Did this stop the trolls unrelenting pursuit of internet hero status? Nope, it only served to put more gasoline on the fire. Those who disagreed were attacked by these trolls which was amusing in a Darwinist sort of way, but it only served to make each thread more and more pointless other than fulfilling the vapid lives of these sad internet warriors. It's definitely lowered the tone here on AFF.

To be honest, it's like the forums have metaphorically removed the Southern Cross sticker, and replaced it with a "******* off we're full sticker instead.
It's not the fault of the moderators who would be having a hell of a job dealing with the extraordinary number of problematic posts, I believe it's the usual suspects who believe the only way to elevate themselves is by belittling others and hoping for some kind/any kind of response. It's really sad.
Agree but the point of "marketing", please.. the falcon was discarded for the overseas takeover too early, I've known people that have had family falcons all their lives and they have no idea about the ecoboost for starters.. and the next brand spanker for them won't be a falcon now, or for many others, falcon was killed for profit and not on true merit, thank the expert write ups on the web or mags with these so called "paid" experts. Trolls be gone but some truth be told
