Not alternate facts, just Facts !

There is no such thing as alternate facts, not in the dictionary.

They are not real, they only exist in simple peoples minds.

Just a leftie buzz word like so many others.

Australia doesn't have a wall, we have a fence.

A rabbit proof fence!

And we are going to make the rabbits pay for it....

He's a megalomaniac so I'm not surprised at all.

Both at what he said and how he said it.

A lefty buzz word?! The term was invented, and used in all seriousness by Trump senior adviser Kellyanne Conway. It's a 'Trump' buzz word, but you're right in that they only exist in simple people's mind. I guess you missed that, wasn't reported on Fox news or the Bolt Report?

I'm a big fan of Trump as president.
But he has to take some time away from twitter. He is embarrassing himself at the moment. The media are looking for anything news worthy and he keeps giving them stuff.
I think he just lacks the ability to remain still.

Trump has described CNN as fake news, MSNBC is in the same basket. You think he cares what lame stream media reports? Using twitter is a means of making fake news even more insignificant.

Right, now that we're all in agreement that Trump misused White House communications channels to further his personal family interests, let's have a look at today's debacle.

"President Trump’s official counselor, Kellyanne Conway, was “counseled” after she told TV audiences to “go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” the White House said Thursday.

Legal experts said Conway had broken a key ethics law banning federal employees from using their public office to endorse products. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that Conway “has been counseled,” but offered no other comment.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said Conway’s endorsement was ”clearly over the line” and “unacceptable.”"

So now Trump White House staffers are endorsing commercial products. It's got that slow-mo train wreck feel about it now hasn't it. Comments?

Yep completely agree.

As I said in this thread way back, I was optimistic about a Trump presidency. That optimism lasted no more than a day after he was inaugurated.

It's now clear Trumps main goal as president is to enrich himself, his family, and his mates.

He drained the swamp, no doubt, but he's re-filled it with far more putrid and dangerous waters...

He has declined to take the presidential salary of $400,000 a year, yes that's how he is enrichening himself.

I might share a name with the current president but to me, this whole episode proves one thing very conclusively: politics and government in its current form is so irreparably broken, we need to start again. A government that is truly representative of the population without getting too big for its boots is hard enough as it is, contaminating it with the vitriol that we are seeing renders it useless.

This is exactly right. And that was the great hope of Trump wasn't it - a non politician to come in and run things differently to the benefit of the common man. It's already blatantly obvious that it isn't going to pan out that way...

That's the thing though, no matter what trade barriers are put up, Intel will still be selling 80% of its product to the rest of the world. They aren't just CPU's, Intel have their hands in that many pies, the world has become dependant on them for a lot of tech. They will buy at whatever price is asked because there is no alternative in a lot of cases.

Not only that, Intel is sitting on that much IP that it is yet to commercialise, the $7 billion investment will turn out to be a drop in the ocean. Which leads me to think that they might be shutting up shop in China in a proactive measure.

I don't see a trade war. It's been 'free' trade, all he want's is fair trade - sort of. He's looking after his own backyard first. Every country should do this! He campaigned on it. He got voted-in on it. It seems he's working towards keeping all his promises - I've never seen that before. If he succeeds with half of them that would probably be a record.

Not that long ago people said ''All Politicians are the same'' have heard this for decades!! A businessman gets elected '' NO NO NO NO NO, HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE''

And it's not like the rest of the world could boycott Intel. More chance of a global boycott on Coke, McDonald's or petroleum.

It's day 21. Both him and Obama signed almost the same amount of executive orders, give or take. But I don't know how many rounds of golf Trump has played in 3 weeks.

I agree the free trade thing has gone too far, I was always against the TPP and Trump scrapping it was definitely one great thing he's done. But like everything, there needs to be a sensible balance. Countries can't completely isolate themselves - their industries need outside markets to sell to. The worry is whether Trump takes the isolationist approach too far, some of the things he's said indicate he might.

Last year AMD licensed all their IP to a Chinese company, for the Chinese market.
I won't pretend to know what that means but the stock market certainly approved.
