Always great to spot a H series.
Common in the day to swap the front headlight panel and radiator support to giving those models the classy look of a Premier or Statesman with the twin 5 3/4in headlights, polished headlight surrounds and grilles. A step further was to add the under bumper lower grille of the Statesman and optional bumperettes. To be real flash additionally changing the guards to GTS fluted ones.

Very hard to distinguish the different between HJ - HZ, HQ, easy to spot.
How did you know it was a HZ if the front panels were changed. Badge placement ?
HZ guard badge below the belt line (block capitals) HX above (running script) HJ none.

The six wheeler spotted last year in Wang, saw yesterday on a trailer in Albury hope someone is restoring it.

Yeah I just said HZ because it looked a later model than a HQ. I am certain though it had those mods you mentioned Wiz. I really wanted to take a pic but I couldn't ask anyone permission and I feel walking down someone's drive taking photos of their classic cars could seem like I had sinister motives, i.e casing the joint

Today: Triumph Stag and Triumph sedan (early-to-mid-70s; 2.5 PI? not sure) parked in the same small (about 15 spaces) parking area. Unusual to see either of these. Same owner?

Fiesta, dark grey, Vic plates starting with 'W' so it must be about 2007 vintage.

A Ford Cougar! Always kinda liked these, one of the better executions of Ford's New Edge styling theme.

Saw an Anglia this morning, looking quite purposeful too, lowered, wide wheels and a double sway bar poking out.

Yellow 2 door mk ll Escort, full ACT rego, with P-plates.

Karmann Ghia and an XBGT sedan, both of which on historic plates. Probably doesn't really count on a Sunday, as that's when those types are always out?
There was also a replica XYGT on massive Simmons, but I don't count that either. (more getting around today than in 1971)

The CUBs down my street have a red Mk1 Esky on a trailer, no doubt destined for Twin Cam or Mexico fakeover.

I saw this article: https://www.drive.com.au/news/lost-h...dary-designer/

It reminds me greatly of the Renault 15. I think they’re all gone now, only a few R17 Gordinis survive of that styling group.

Just come back from from a cruise and about 4 days in Brisbane......was really surprised (saddened) how few Ford's and Holdens were driving around? Few old projects up people's drives
There's probably more driving around in NZ

Mustang convertible, white, 'GT-CS'; from the number plate I am guessing it's a 2008 model. Nice day in Melbourne; older bloke (older than me).

There was some kind of Holden drive today, they gathered at the factory and went on a cruise for the last race etc. Quite entertaining if you like seeing old cars out on the road. One highlight sleeper, looked complete stock VH red S/L, but when he booted it, tyres chirping like birds, but i couldnt get a photo

No love for the old telstar? I admit they were pretty forgettable in most every department, but I did think the TX5 versions looked good.

My Grandparents had a 1986 Telstar GL from new in that horrible gold colour Ford was using at the time. This example had now power steering, their advancing age meant they ended up selling it to buy a 2000 Laser LXi, their last car.

The Telstar/ 626 were the same basic car, just trim differences like front panels, grilles etc and different tailights.Just like the Laser/323 and the Ranger/BT50 until the last couple of years

It was actually part of the ‘Button’ plan.Ford Telstar/Mazda 626, Ford XF ute/Nissan ute, Holden Astra/Nissan Pulsar. They were interesting times in the automotive landscape in Aus.
