He says all the Territory is getting is a restyled lower bumper. If that is all and no features or whatever, what is the point??

Also notice that one has side steps.. Id say Titanium will get steps standard. No doubt they will content the car out like mad to try and get rid of them. New wheels and trims too.

Its just the angle of the shot plus all the padding they shove under the cover to throw you off.
THe black one looks like a G6E or G6ET and the white one clearly an XR6. Pretty scummy they didnt upgrade the wing mirrors to a version with an LED repeater given they are out there in the parts bin.

I remember the spy pics of the FG made it look longer! Still not sure about the front end on that XR... sigh. Territory looks like its running a 19 inch alloy to?

I note an absence of cutouts in the bra for front parking sensors (as has been done on the rear of that XR6) Does this mean front parking sensors have been chopped and with it park assist or it is simply not fitted to those cars.

They said we wouldn't get most of the VF bits so it looks like no parking sensors / blind spot. I think upgrades will be mainly cosmetic for Falcon and sync as far as techo.

Graziano said that it wouldnt be a VF-level change. So things like the HUD, alloy panels, electric park brake etc but surely to Christ they could have implemented front parking sensors and the blind spot stuff. And keyless entry.

Hmm I think it all comes down to $$$$. The factory had a major upgrade to test and provision for some of these technologies a few years ago but I have a feeling Ford has chopped a lot of the upgrades out of the FH simply because I don't think they would have sold enough cars to repay the development. The way they are going FH will never pay for itself anyhow.

There is a lot of black plastic honeycomb on the front of that white car.

It's a pity they didn't go all out with this model though considering they will sadly lose their jobs anyway, so do what you can and ignore the bosses.
Well, that's what I'd be doing ;) It's not like this model will be made for profit anyway.

Bit hard to do that when the bosses have to sign off any spend on the new model. I think we should be happy that we will get a final Falcon update in what is the lowest of low for the Falcon.

Well Ive been saying for a couple of years the FG will be the last ever Falcon but this thing now looks advanced enough that it might be born after all. I'm surprised but happy to be proven wrong even if it does make no business sense to build it.

if you look at the design language of other ford passenger vehicles (not suv) i think you will find the larger opening will be on the top. suv's seem to be the other way though.

And with some insider knowledge, the Ford Aust team are absolutely working their backsides off and doing their heads in to give us as much as is humanly possible. This car has less then half the claimed VF budget, runs a year less and wouldn't even exist if not for a last minute deal between Ford US, Ford Aust., our Fed Gov and the Vic state Gov...period. It's not going to make Ford Aust a profit and yet they are going to release it. Could we just leave this thread to speculation of photo's only....and more photo's as well? One thing I did notice, either that driver is extremely tall or he has the seat right up cause that seating position looks commanding.

I still find it intriguing that a nose job (cooling) and interior toys take so long to 'prove' but I'm thinking as previously mentioned that it's our taxpayer funding 'payoff' that keeps it going.

IMO this will be one of the most under whelming updated Fords to be released in many years. I will be sticking to my current car as the new one will not be enough to warrant an update. |
