Suffice to say that the Miami is open to more performance mods than the Tau which is not a bad V8 attempt from Hyundai. I doubt that the Tau will make it to Oz for under 80K, if at all. That is why I will continue saying that a XR8 on the road for 60K is the bargain of the decade.

Was having a look on YouTube and come across this.......
http:// Those have to be the most hideous looking interior lights I have ever seen in a falcon........well any car for that matter and man that black roof lining why oh why............ Much preferred the off White of my BF and FG. Cheers Ryan |

Yeah cause the shape of the interior lights is usually number 1 on people's shopping lists.
Can we find an even more pathetic excuse to trash the FG-X. Maybe the grain on the underbody deadening isn't to your tastes either? |

I think the thread might need to be changed to "What's wrong with the final Falcon" or "Which Asian car is better than the FGX?" I hope these people are wearing a bib for all the **** they constantly dribble.

I'm itchin to bolt my dual system up to my black baby n crank it up!.. Front and back the noise will be bliss.. Lucky I'm a bit old school n still wear my sunnies on my hat lol..
Interior lights.. Seriously? This forum has definetly shown me how un-supportive and thus un-australian (in my eyes) people are now days. I now have greater understanding of why we are losing our falcon forever. People expect everything for nothing these days, not even n R-spec in XR8 clothing at 58k drive away is good enough for some. What a joke!! |

Need the moderators to go through
& get rid of all the **** that don't belong on this topic. I look forward to getting home from work & reading any new (or old) info on the FGX but I would rather have no updates to read then all the **** that's getting on here. |

I quite like the black headlining.
Our Calais-V has black headlining, and I prefer it to the boring light beige in my G6. I have been thinking about sourcing the wearing plastics (sun visors & hooks, seat belt adjusters etc) from Ford, and re trimming the headlining & pillar covers in black fabric. I do agree that the interior lights leave a lot to be desired, but they do work well. It has crossed my mind to change them if/when I redo the headlining. Didn't stop me from buying my FG though...... |

Well, I have 2 questions about the FG X XR8 that are on point.
1. I note that the GT R spec had a redline of about 6250, but this XR8 has 6000 redline? Does anyone know if the engine does rev less, has an early revlimiter setting, and if so why there is a difference? 2. Does anyone know whether the jaguar 5 litre supercharger is essentially a clone of the Coyote/Miami block, the bore and stroke are similar proportions and only a few mm difference, also Jaguar ("Ford") uses eaton supercharger, and apparently had some involvement in the sourcing of the eaton supercharger for the Miami. Very curious, that 5 litre Jaguar supercharged engine has a higher rev limit closer to 7,000 rpm...so obviously there are differences, also did not use the harrop supercharger manifold etc? Anybody in the know. Cheers |

Now a XR8 ute. It would go against all that everyone has said but if Ford made it I'd buy that in a heart beat. Kicking myself I didn't get a beaut Pursuit ute. But spyman are you sure it's a XR8 ute.

That's what I meant. If you can see the wipers, there's no buldge.

Wasn't too sure about the gold colour on the fgx when I first saw the cgi pics, but happy too say, nice colour in real(video)life. And great front on camera angles before Frosty ''floors'' it. Its got me why Ford releases cgi shots because I reckon that's why peoples first thoughts are meh. They can never seem to capture the best angles of their cars First impressions count Ford PR |

If that is true?...............maybe its a case of the XR8 getting a rev limited 351kw tune to pull it back to 335kw. Cheers Mick Last edited by HO 3; 08-11-2014 at 08:17 PM. |

More likely something similar to what they did with the Boss 290 in the FG XR8.

Interesting on the dark headlining, we had a training session on the car last week, a big deal made of it. Afterwards I went and sat in the car, played with SYNC2, brilliant Sat Nav (finally) and honestly, I had forgotten about the headlining until I read this thread.
Didn't look at it, didn't notice it, can't be that dramatic a thing...apparently. |
