I also saw that there's a spolier option, but it looks just like the XR8 one. Is that for non XR models or are we seeing two spoiler options? It doesn't look like it but i hope its a GT type one........ |

Looks like Ford put their publication team into early retirement, and hired some photoshop teenagers instead

Bit of a shame the brochures seem like a token effort.
Is the XR8 meant to have LSD and alloy spare? (Looks like this section of the brochure is all mixed up)

i too downloaded that brochure, the specs on the last pg seem mixed up between the different models.
id say the dark agents will be xr6 only as the xr8 has the wider 9in rears. |

They are optional on XR8 too, but one would think they would be a backward step for that model?

They should of had abit of an proof read before they released that brochure...the spec sheet is all over the place like a dogs breakfest, especially when it says things like 'XR8 Alloy wheels standard on XR6 Turbo'

They forgot to photoshop the old antenna out of one the pictures. Sounds petty but it's **** poor that it was missed. Really is a half arsed job.

Ford have been stockpiling, today they have released them from the compound so as to provide a slightly simultaneous release, this will be mostly the standard models however, not many of the xr8's will be making it through until later on.

I've said this before, but why no reviews published yet. I'm assuming all the motoring journos have driven them. Would've thought people that aren't diehard Ford fans would like to read a review before considering an FGX.

Manufacturers place embargo's on there products, they've probably All driven them, filmed them and photographed them, but have signed contracts to not release information until a time of fords choosing, same goes with spec releases, that's why all the websites have info published at relatively the same time, it's there ready to go waiting for the allowed time.

Now this may seam weird to most/all but I personally have never liked/enjoyed test driving cars. The short time your in them you don't really get time to get a feel for them. I'm alway somewhat nervouse and due to this don't really enjoy the experience. I really have to but the first 1000+ km on it until I get a true feel for it and really start to enjoy it.

^^ I agree.
Some dealers offer an "overnight" test drive to serious buyers (or repeat customers) who have proven themselves to be genuine buyers. Our company had a relatively decent sized fleet, to the point where large dealers looking to win the fleet business would offer us trial cars for up to several weeks at a time. One of these was the Ford press car for the EcoLPi launch. Our fleet manager offered it to me for an objective opinion, and I used it for the regular day-to-day driving for several days. Needless to say it won me over - not only did I get one, but I managed to swing a number of other guys off the diesel mondeo & into an LPi. It gave me time to really get a feel for the car in daily use - early starts, freeway running, stop-start traffic, and night driving - how many people buy cars and then whinge about the headlights the first time they drive it at night? You also get a proper test of the aircon & demister in varying conditions, the radio, and all the other controls. All of the above are things you really can't test properly in a "round the block" test drive. It's too late now, but if more dealers did this for fleets, particularly with the ecoboost & LPi models, and took the time to explain the low running (and servicing) costs, then maybe there would be more of these locally produced gems purchased for fleets - instead of imported 4 cyl cars that are smaller, but cost more to run (fuel, servicing etc). |

Also, how does one test drive a GTF that was sold out in 24 hours before it was built? Sometimes people just have to bite the bullet and take the risk. It is usually the insane ones who reap the rewards. So glad that you are enjoying your pursuit. |
