Official on sale date, it's like opening a building, gets used until the official date, why would you make people wait for no reason, that'd be ridiculous

Well done Garry! I hope you find plenty of time - and clear roads - over the weekend to enjoy it.

First time I really noticed the colour matching of the rear views, the rims and the fog light surrounds, too, is in that first pic of yours. Looks tremendous, and I'm green with envy. My local dealership couldn't even tell me when they're getting an FGX in to look at this afternoon :/

You can switch it of by turning DSC off. this shuts off both systems.

Cheers Garry.
Are you sure that isn't traction control, because that's the system that runs parallel with DSC, and is always on unless turned off. Everything I have seen so far has said that launch control isn't fitted.

Happy to be corrected but i'm not yet convinced.

If it was launch control it would tell you how it works, DSC off, foot on brake and foot to floor? Then off the brakes?

If I had thought of it I could have tried it out on the one I drove yesterday.

That looks awesome and would be the colour i would of gotten if i was buying one.

This is a bargin...Rspec performance for 55k - 60k is brilliant and is the right price point for the car.

Well done Garry, thanks for the pictures and information, myself along with all the other readers are looking forward to more pictures and information when you find the time to post.

May I ask how the dealer experience was as a customer.

G'day Boss.

In the FG X owners manual there is launch control listed in the index. Then on page 125 it says in the heading for that page, Launch Control (V8 only).

Then it talks about how it works with a manual and an auto, and how to turn it off and on.

Don't know what else to say.
If it's not fitted then Ford have screwed the pooch big time with it listed in the owners book.

Cheers,
Garry.

Hi ParisManfred.

The dealership has been great from day one.

I put the deposit down at the end of May. And, if I'm honest, I've been a bit of a pain in the **** to them since (dropping in every couple of weeks and annoying them etc.).

When the new car manager called me yesterday morning to tell me it was there I was in Griffith on business and didn't think I could get back this week to get it. So I said Monday next week. I cut the trip short, got back to day and called him to see if I could get it before then. He called me back and said 4pm today. Brilliant.

So far every thing from deposit to pick up has been great.

Cheers.

Garry,

Thanks for the positive feedback about them as I intend to have mine serviced there but delivery for mine isn't until April or May 2015 from an Albury dealership.

what the hell is launch control , really. Is it not just a rev limiter when you have the clutch in, so you can't give it a high RPM clutch dump and break things? I hear people calling that crap launch control and you're better off without it.

p.s. the blue FGX looks bloody awesome, congratulations. I want those wheels for my F6!

Perfect timing - bring this to All Ford Day at Qbn Saturday?

Certainly hope Ford have something there so 'poor' Falcon fans such as I have something to gawk at and wish.

Congrats on the acquisition...

Congratulations big time. Wow.. You must be one the first in the Country to receive a delivery so can I recommend you savour the moment. As far as I am concerned this is history in the making because it will a long time if Ford ever decides to recommence manufacturing cars again in this country.

I am and I have no doubt other forum members are also pleased for your excitement. And yes.. I wish it was me (but not your colour choice) but none the less thank you for sharing so much. Would appreciate if you could take some photos of the car interior and share your views and sights with us poor but hungry pre order clients who have yet to receive our Aussie steeds!

Bad boy cutting your work schedule short just to pick up a car!!! I remember before most of you were born I ordered a XA panel van 351,toploader,big diff etc,etc then ford went on strike for 9 weeks, they finally went back so I took of to Sydney for 3 weeks holiday next week the squeeler rang and said my van was in! I drove back to Melb that night, bugger the holiday, Thought I would have a million problems with the car after 9 weeks strike, never had one claim under warranty. Good luck with your ride.

Went to local dealer today to see if they had any FG X in stock they start to get thier stock next week and should have a good range to look at by weeks end
When I asked for a brochure he said they only have 1 but I could have a look at it. How nice of him
Started to ask some questions about XR6T luxury pack that he couldnt answer ( wasnt hard just wanted to know what you get)
He opened brochure and said lets learn about the car together

Was passed onto fleet manager this guy knew hes stuff
Have sold all XR8s up until April no fleet or staff discount. a bit hard on staff if you ask me
Will be going back next week to have a look and drive of the XR6T and G6ET

PS
If that was thier only brochure now they have none as i accidently walked out with it

Yeah I emailed Ford directly about it and have been waiting for them to get back to me.
They only replied about an hour ago and confirmed that it does have launch control.
But you beat them to it!
Thanks.

Drove past the local dealer (Wodonga) and they had two FG-X's out the front. A ute and a sedan.
Not sure what they were (i think the ute was an XR6) but i was surprised how good they looked in the flesh (from a distance anyway).

looking through the brochure it has so many mistakes its not funny ( unless im reading it wrong)

G6E & G6ET both get same performance suspension as XR8
XR6T gets XR8 rims standard
XR8 gets G6E rims standard
XR6 gets XR6T rims standard
XR6T is the only Falcon that gets matching spare wheel

Stopped and had a look also.
No XR8"s at my local dealership yet.
Sat in an XR6, the black roof lining
looks good & the new seats are great
also like the leather (if you call it that)
on the door arm rests instead of material.

Going to be a long 4 months.
