What pads did you use on that job to achieve that result?

Anyone tried those waxes that are well over the $300 range ?
Just looked at two on waxit site . Scholl and Wolfgang. Just wandering what results they give. |

It pains me to type this, but I don't see value in those products.
Check out this for more on high end waxes -

I don't use Ceramic coatings on my cars outside of plastic or wheel coatings like DLUX or NV Wheel. I like the flexability of changing and trying new products over a coating that can last 3 or 5 years. If I was to recommend a full-blown coating, it would be either CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 or Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light as both seem to be the more forgiving coatings to apply. So, these are my favorites. Considering you have mentioned high-end waxes, I have narrowed my choices to waxes and sealants rather than the huge array of spray ceramic/sealants/waxes on the market. An old, old favorite Collinite 845. No fancy bottles or scents, just a bloody good wax! Some get a bit scared about 845 as it needs to spread as thinly as possible and can need to be warmed up prior to use in winter, but it is just so slick, so good to look at. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant is something I have been using since 2008. This stuff is magical in the way it applies, wipes off and the way it looks. And a product that really impressed me was Gyeon Q2 Wax. I have never seen a wax have water behavior and beading like this.

I've used both Gyeon Q2 and Collinite 845 on the same car. I like them both. They give a similar finish and durability. The Collinite wins for value for money, the Q2 for ease of use, but neither is overly difficult to use, and I do it by hand. I suspect you might also tend to use a bit more Collinite than you need, whereas the Q2's "stick" makes it relatively easy to keep thin, so that may well balance out the value equation.

Did that area get the same S20 treatment as the rest of the car? Or has this appeared after the polish and wax? It may have had something on the paint at some point that has etched that spot. You could always try something with more cut to see if it improves, although you would want to be cautious if you suspect the clear is failing. This might be a case best judged by a paint or body shop.

I have had instances where I was not quick enough removing bird droppings and it etched the paint. I remember using CarPro Spotless with success. Otherwise, polish should sort it. Again, I would want to be sure it's not clear-coat failure. In terms of hitting it with a heavier compound, perhaps try by hand in a very small section first and see what that yields.

So despite having reservations regarding extremely expensive high end waxes, I sort of contradict myself here........I had a good week in earnings and went and did some ordering.
I have been intrigued by AMMO NYC products for a while and after being taunted by them on a forum elsewhere, I jumped in the deep end and made an order. For those who don't know, AMMO NYC is Larry Kosilla's own brand of detailing chemicals. Larry is not only one of the best detailers around but he also has a very natural, reasoned way of explaining the how and why's of detailing. https://ammonyc.com/ My main motivator for the order was Hydrate Paint Moisturizer, another take on a drying aid. Anyone who has used it tends to rave about it. https://ammonyc.com/collections/exte...nt-moisturizer AMMO ship from the America so postage is a big killer of these products outside of US market. Do I need more products? Not at all, but I'm having fun all the same.

Dude you should really have your own You Tube Channel by now.
You would do well with the way you present things and once established, brands would be sending you products by the pallet load to test and showcase.

I have and continue to think about making You Tube content. I am very self conscious, even around people that know me personally, so it would have me most definitely off camera. It's taken me a long time to be confident with myself posting on forums, You Tube would likely be yesterdays fad by the time I make the plunge.

I can't talk either, I have ideas also on all different types of topics, but wouldn't want to jump in front of a camera either.
I believe your passion at what you like and what you do would shine through. Your half way there already in the work you do setting up to take the photos ect. I have posted this guy before who cleans the dirtiest cars people can chuck at him on his you tube channel. He only does 1 a week which can take up to 2 days to clean. He now has his own product line & merch, and is in the process of building a ground up studio / detailing garage to film future episodes in. To me there is nothing wrong with what he has now. Here is the latest update, so you can see the scale of what he has achieved off YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXeB_LMig_4

Yes I agree.
I am just amazed at what these people seem to generate in income. The hard part is coming up with another spin or angle that hasn't already been done.

I say "his" because they are almost certainly made by the same company responsible for many mainstream brands, and a lot of other private label lines. The bottle and sprayers look extremely similar to the Adam's line up. Adam's products are made by B&B Blending, so it's more than likely Detail Geek Car Care comes from B&B as well.

Let’s talk drying towels, I need to buy another couple, what do you use?
Previously used: Aquatouch old mate, dries well, difficult to wring out Supercell drying towel, dries well but weirdly feels rough, is falling apart after 6 months

We hear you and some of us share your views. Its about the content and it can be done. Would you consider other approaches, like an over the shoulder shot, or side angles? Where you talk to the viewers and they can see your hands and what you're doing, and the content is the focus. Personally, i dislike videos where the presenter is front and centre and talks endlessly. I watch to see content, not the presenter. You could be a bit mysterious, like Wilson from Tim the Toolmans Home Improvement, where we never saw his face. https://youtu.be/7aPa0cOrpwI Id encourage you to give it some thought. You come across as knowledgeable, genuine and your obvious passion shines through. I think those factors alone would appeal to a lot of enthusiasts.
