Yep. President elect

Not the president. What he has effectively done is gone right behind the presidents decision to invoke sanctions. As a private citizen.

Do you not see the problem?

If it happened after Jan 20 then your point is very valid.

I can see the problem, it's not proper protocol which should have been followed and now the appropriate response has been implemented.

However, depending on the finer details if it was purely in effort to defuse an heightened war tension between two superpowers that had been inflamed by Obama on the way out the door after months of back and forth between the two nations then I can't condem him for being proactive in avoiding that.

No, but the Logan Act does exactly that.

Yes but then on those same grounds there would be reason to investigate as to the depth of the Russian hacking of the Democratic Party communications in order to help elect Trump.

Trump welcomed the help, used it, and publicly solicited more of it—and was then elected president.

There's an easy $100,000 to be made for any journalist who can provide one study that says mercury in vaccines (such as the flu vaccine) is safe.

That's the challenge that's been put out just now buy Robert DiNero and Robert Kennedy Jr. Money for jam for the vaccine supporters. If the government and health agencies are correct the World Mercury Project should be bankrupt in around 10 seconds flat.

Trump pointing fingers at the intelligence community - again?

He will not win this fight. It won't matter, even if he has the moral ground.

I'm curious about what the Trump critics think about the Australian government over the last 6-7 years donating 105 million to the Hillary foundation. Both parties donated to this in the expectation of a Hillary win.

That's our taxes wasted on an election that really is none of our business.

Early days yet but if the Buck stops at Flynn, I'd like to see a counter-punch. Jeff Sessions needs to investigate who has been leaking all the information, especially the confidential material.

He's got the heavy artillery to help in Jason Chaffetz and his mate Gowdy........

We do need US of A more than they need us. Cynic in me thinks it was a small insurance payment to have a few sympathetic ears on the other end and it shows how important US "special relationship" is to Australia. I hope Australian Govt was not trying to influence US election results.

There are various amounts mentioned in News Ltd papers, following is just one of them.

Wow according to that article George posted Gillard/Abbott donated 460 mill to another Clinton-affiliated global partnership for education.

Like wtf bet that was well spent.

Whatever, Trump does at least our stupid governments might reign in some of this ridiculousness.

I'm sure there was no quid pro quo just 565 mill to the losing candidate

And this man is the leader of the US ? He can't string a "presidential" string of words together to make a complete sentence.

Heard about it early this morning, but wasn't sure how legit it was. Apparently a new batch of WikiLeaks has been released. If true the irony of the subject matter is, well, lol.

Mattis is due to deliver his plan to fight IS in two weeks and it seems he has been feeling out a bigger contribution from us.

What form that takes for either country who knows but it will be a test of Trump's leadership for sure.

For what it is worth I think we've put committed the most effort after the US in these recent times.

I get the feeling we're talking about boots on the ground soon.
