Nice picc's of the White XR6 Turbo ute. Where were they taken? The background suggest they were taken in the south western suburbs of Brisvegas and if that is the case is the vehicle from Denmac Ford Darra.

I did too until I saw it in the flesh at Bathurst. Just didn't 'pop' as much as I expected to in real life.
Not to say anyone else will feel that way, but that was what I thought. Craig H

Your not going to sell many cars if you can't supply them. In one sentence he says 83 and the next says theywill produce to demand. Sounds to me like they havnt got enough gearboxes. One month tops is all I would wait for car any longer and I would buy something else.

Wow....just read the article. It's very clear that the current limit of 83 vehicles per day for all models will be maintained. IMO for those potential buyers who waiting to see what happens with specials or any other model variants you may ultimately miss out on getting a car!

They're talking with the supplier of the 6HP26 about additional availability of automatic transmissions and if they need to make more cars they will go back to working Saturdays or overtime rather than increase the line rate.

For a lifestyle sports motor vehicle, disagree, I have waited 19 years myself driving econobox family rubber band powered sh@@boxes, another 4 months is nothing to me, especially when for that lifestyle sports motor vehicle I would probably have to spend x 3 times or more and go euro to get the same power and driveline with a quad cam v8, and possibly still be struggling to find a car with a real manual box behind some 400kw rear wheel driver.... And I would like to add, I have never before desired utes, but seeing those photos of the Falcon ute in white with the flared side tray bulges and steelwork, makes me now see the light. Perhaps they will just adjust the split and build more XR8 instead of *insert model here* rather then increase the line rate or add more shifts?

Was at Thomson Ford yesterday and saw a blue XR8 with the ACM number plates on it. Big fan, although supply issues mean I've put a deposit on a G6E-T FGX in Smoke with the Northern Tan interior. Sat in one the other day at Thomson and as a comparison I can say the following.
As a current owner of an FG G6E-T the seats feel more comfortable, the interior layout whilst familiar in many ways is different in the feel, such as the black headlining, and the Sync2 thing just changes the game. Different look from the front with the bonnet rake feeling different, but overall it's a much nicer looking car. Glad that there is a modern interpretation of one of the best cars I've ever owned. Am I sad about missing the XR8? You bet. If I can secure the latter though then I'll trade the old G6 in and give the new one to dad (he's got my old one at the moment, I'm getting around in an FG cab chassis on gas - good for airport parking). I think an FGX ute with a styleside as a daily might be on the cards too, as a cab chassis means all my mates want me to pick stuff up for them. Bugger, that's three cars which is really gonna hurt the bank. Screw you FoMoCo, haven't you already taken enough of my dollars? Seriously though, I have played with some expensive cars in the past but Ford really are the best in terms of value for money, and my dealership experience is nothing short of bliss.

Great to hear this review of the FGX G6E-T. I love my FG G6E-T, and the new FGX is on the cards in about 18 months when I am due for a new car. Near new or second hand is ok, doesn't bother me. Looking forward to seeing the tan leather with black roof lining in the flesh outdoors in real lighting. |
