As mentioned, check out my thread in show and shine.
Emperor is quite an unusual colour and has many personalities depending on the light. Its not for everyone (that's why I chose it - something different on a XR8) and really needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated. It also needs to seen ''clean'', because road grime/dust/dirt really skews its clarity.

Yeah the Emperor does look pretty good out in the sunlight...im still tossing up between victory gold and kinetic blue yet, even though i've seen both colours side by side on fg x's in the showroom...but i'm kinda leaning towards the gold.

Demand and supply, sadly.

New xr8 really looks the goods.

Best value performance car in the world

Well maintained examples won't depreciate at all.

Congrats to all that have one already or one on order.

It's amazing how good they look with just a little reduction in ride height.

Would that void warranty though?

IMO with the experience I've had with my FG still at standard height, the FG any lower becomes more impractical in driveways, carparks etc.

If only the wheel openings in the guards were closed up a bit during the initial design, especially around the top of the wheel arch, there would have been less need for lowering.

I must agree. For a stock car, I've always gotta watch it when I park so I don't scrape the front bar. My old WRX was the same but it had been lowered. There's no way I'd lower my FG.

Saw an FGX XR6 Ute and G6E sedan the other day in the local dealership. IMO still doesn't do it for me in the flesh.

I agree.

Saw both the xr6 sedan and the ute. Not my style.

FYI Eclipse Ford in Ballarat has a demo Gold XR8 that is about to be put up for sale (done 1000kms)

That XR8 has been dropped by a good 35-40mm.

Looks very good, but would be pretty impractical for every day use

Just a quick question to anyone that owns or has seen the interior of the FG X XR8, does it have a boost gauge. In the pictures I've seen so far I can't see one, thanks.

XR8 manual may interest me but as you stated once your sitting in & driving this bargain the love will develop.
Yet to see a XR8 but the xr6 which I have eyeballed & FGx overall look leaves me flat.

Just a question for the members,i was doing a build quote on the Ford website and was not sure about one of the options.

Is the stand alone leather option on the XR6T the same type of leather that is part of the luxury pack.

Thanks

Yes it is mate, if you go lux pack you have to have leather, but you don't have to go lux pack to get leather.

Lol, I took more than 70mm out of my fairlane, and it's driven every single day.

No practicality issues at all. See no reason for a fg to be any different.
