Hi all. I received the K&N 57-0686 57i Performance intake kit but after checking with my insurance they won't cover it. So I'm selling it if anyone is interested. I paid $406 so selling for $350. I'm in Melbourne Victoria and would prefer a local sale as I don't have another box big enough to pack it. I've only opened the box to view it's contents so it's brand new.

The install was pretty straightforward, finding where to the ballast is the hardest part, I settled on putting them under the headlight on the front face of the wheel arch liner, the only other hassle was flipping the globes to put the wire on the bottom instead of the top( only in projectors) if you don't you have a shadow in the middle of your beam, how to achieve this will vary depending on your bulbs the philips ones I used have a removable backing plate which made it easy. Brightness is increased by about 3 times, you can actually see what's on the tar now even when it's wet. I am looking forward to getting the high beams upgraded when adaptor's I have ordered from South Africa arrive then I will post some pics

Compared weights between the ST's included space saver and the can of goo found in the base models.

The whole goo assembly including the air compressor is 2.6kg but the whole space saver assembly including wheel and jack is about 13kg so there's a significant weight saving there.

Treated the Fez to some shiny new boots. Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 in size 205/45R16. $190 a corner and only had to pay for 3 of them with the current Bridgestone 4 for 3 promotion. Interestingly they didn't jack up the price for the promotion either as i had been told the same price a few months back when I enquired.

I was wanting 195/50 profile to put a little more rubber under it, but the 205/45 was a much more common size and therefore a bit cheaper. One pleasant surprise was that the tyre shop didn't discover any more buckled rims this time. I've already bought a second set of used Zetec rims to find 4 decent ones and was nervous they'd find one of the "good" 4 was now damaged.

WS Zetec owners will understand what I'm talking about! :-)

Warranty claim on the WT for an exhaust leak and a grinding auto box.

They've a new front pipe and muffler for it as there is a problem with the flange that causes it to leak more gas the hotter it gets... meanwhile we have to hope my partner doesn't die from exhaust leaking in to the cabin :P

Gearbox just got a software update, fuel economy has improved from just that and the car now moves forward when you let off the brake like a normal auto which it didn't before. The grinding is still there though.

Yeah. But I was not really worried about the price as the wife's employer was paying.
All part of her bonus deal. I prefer the cash, but they run it through their books as inputs to the company as a tax break.
I'll be calling on the same facility when the Toyota is due for tyres.
And we have already had our garage door mother replaced under the same scheme.

Hey Mrmavx, was wondering where you got the Philips H7 kit from? And di you have to cut the rubber seal for the wires to connect?

Did you put the High beams in yet?

Put some new strip LED lighting in the boot and rear footwell. Love the look of it. And they are extremely bright!

Also put a 12v socket in the boot to run the waeco

Hey guys I thought I'd give everyone a quick mod guide for replacement interior courtesy lights and map lights.

I ordered 5LED T10/w5w white SMD canbus lights from eBay and they seem bright enough.

You will need a flat screwdriver or panel removal tool. Get a cloth to wrap around the tool so that you don't take chunks of plastic off.

For the plastic lens (faceplate), start from the front of the car (towards windscreen) because there is a plastic tab that holds it from that direction

Once u take it apart, work on getting the rest of the housing off. Removing the faceplate will reveal a metal tab that will unlatch the housing. Work with the tool to get the rest of the housing apart and then you can dangle the unit from the wiring.

From the rear of the housing you can actually twist off the bulb holders to remove the current bulbs to make it easier and also to install just twist it back on. Once u get the new bulbs on, test all the lights to make sure they work before u fit it back altogether. If they don't work try reversing the polarity (flipping it 180deg).

Once working, just clip every thing back into place. The rear one is very similar just make sure u don't lose the switch as it might pop out once u remove the plate.

I also swapped out the footwell lights. Very easy just plug and play those ones.

My next mod is to tap into the ambient lighting and to put a red led strip in the footwell so that it lights up red with the rest of the car while driving.

Happy modding everyone!

U get the ones in the glove box and the boot too clem?
I also have the red ones in footwells, and the main cabin lights, it's dull but I like it! Have white ones in reading lights and glove box.

Hey mate I was Gonna do the strip lighting mod posted before by fiestaz in the boot. Rarely use the glove box at night so I'll probably leave it and just do the plate lights.

I'm looking at adding red led strip lighting as an additional light in the footwell so it stays on while I drive like the rest of the red lights. The white lights will come on when I unlock /open door in footwell
