Was thinking making 95 E10 standard would be best for consumers too

95Ron should have been the base fuel from the very beginnning of lead phase out.....government caved in refiners who raised fears of cost/upgrade issue etc....and here we are today, importing majority of use and no real plant upgrades with only two (iirc) remaining.

Having had another Puma today as a service loan car, I really wish Ford would put their mind to endeavors other than Ranger, because this is such a great car.
Granted, I had an ST-Line, which has one of the best steering wheel's I have ever used, but the basics of the car are so well done. The seating and steering positions have plenty of adjustment, the steering is excellent if a little too eager off center, the ride is good, the lack of road noise and refinement at speed is exceptional. The engine has good mid-range torque, although it has no top end grunt. And it's a little subdued in the noise department for my liking. The DCT does upshift on its own in manual mode, I even ended up with a double up-shift because of that. Both of those last two comments are probably not an issue for the target buyer, just my inner petrol head wanting what it wants.

Yes it was on the top of our shopping list to replace the wife's Mazda CX-3 for all the reasons stated. The Puma is a little ripper but sadly will not be available when we go to purchase the replacement car next year.

I have people ask me what car is that?
( it’s a 22.25 Puma) I reply it’s the last petrol Euro Ford. It’s a secret - don’t tell anyone. Ford were so scared about people finding out about Puma that they withdrew it from the Aus market. Or ????? |

I have had the Escape twice as a loan car from my Ford dealer
Another great car! And super value on the second hand market. Fords decision to remove Puma and Escape from the Au market is just baffling I saw a Focus Active SA the other day another great car that be sold here |

Amazing that Ford Oz can't (be bothered to) sell these, but Ford NZ can make a case for both the Puma mild-hybrid AND ST models.

My 2018 escape is a great car but Ford Australia has nothing in its range to replace it with. Ford Europe needs an overhaul. |

I think I understand the Ford situation.
Ford USA can't make anything for Export out of USA or RHD. Ford Europe can't make anything for Export out of Europe. Ford China can't make anything for Export out of China. Ford Australia wanted to Export to USA and other places but not allowed so was closed. Ford Thailand could make some of the things that Ford USA won't make for Export but not allowed. Very weird company when you look at it.

I think they just want to put in minimal effort into our market, they know we currently buy Thailand Specials en masse, they have the market leader in that segment so they don't need to deal with inventory and compliance costs involved in selling a greater range of vehicles in Australia. |

Just had a look at Ford Uk website
You can still buy Fiesta (including a raised Active model) Focus Puma Kuga (Escape) S Max Mach E Mustang Electric Explorer Transit and Tourneau (looks like a VW Caddy re badge) Fiesta and Focus finish soon so there go Ford s cheaper cars - guess Euro folks will buy other brands and Chinese instead. Ford dealers here can sell you any type of car you want as long as its Ranger Everest Mach E and Mustang and Transit oh wait cant source Mustang for another six months. What a sad end to the era of Ford Euro s Cortina Anglia Escort Sierra Mondeo Fiesta Focus Puma apologies for models missed all great cars all gone -the Ford Euro car buyer in Aus is left with zero. I dont want Ranger-Everest-Mustang neither does Franco. |

Lets not forget both the main OE's here lived off their dominate seller no diff to the dual cab now, other offerings generally were just making up some small numbers. For all the Ford failures and there is many as with most OE's they are still standing be it majority dual cabs/SUV offshoot sales GM/Holden is nothing/finito/kaput the sham of a company its been for decades. Here's another for you - do you recall which US OE's put their hands outs to the White House arriving in private jets whilst the joke didn't ? Just saying

Even in the Aftermarket they are hopeless at Export, some brands could have so much market share with some minor dedicated support but they can't get their heads around it but for some exceptions where we and other companies I know kick goals. They have spread their wings alot more of recent times ie OE's/Aftermarket is below them due to easier geography, Latin America/ more so Mexico. Many many US companies have set up offices/distribution and many new Factories invested/built. The rest of the globe no matter.

With over 300 million people living in the lower 48 states they don't need to.

They might be but also get the sales because they are cheaper in most instances, undercutting other import markets, stealing copyrights, IP and patents, are most subsidized by their own government and have a lousy track record towards their own people.

Same as i posted a little while ago except i looked at FoA/Ford US. As for Euro Fords, spent a bit of time owning an LV XR5T and Mk3 focus ST, and sat in driven various other Euro Fords in that time Light years ahead of anything AU built. Euro Fords just had that, i dunno 'feel'. Not to mention how well they drove, we've lost a lot since Ford have killed most/all of em off. Sure the Ranger/everest/mustang are suitable for many, but none of em do anything for me really. No new Fords for me, but im sure they'll 25 rangers for my non sale

But add a 2024 XR6 Turbo in the mix, that counts me out for a Euro a little. Both pipe dreams now sadly. They've lost me.
