Hi Guys, Gals, don't forget those who are travelling up with us from Sydney -

We had a talk at the Holden Vs Ford show on the weekend and we decided to leave Glenbrook Information Centre at 7am. This will allow us to get to Dubbo, settle in to the Motel, clean our cars and then set off to the venue.

New times are -

Meet at Glenbrook Information Centre 6.45am for departure to Dubbo at 7am.

We will probably make stops at Lithgow and Orange.

Ciao - James

I don't have a ute, or a blue healer, but I can always get Connor to stick his head out the window and growl at every holden ute with a red healer in it.

Found a car wash in Whylandra Street Dubbo. I don't know what the water restrictions are like in Dubbo, so at least we have somewhere to go and get the car washed down.

Thats great mate - when I was in Dubbo a few months ago they had no water restrictions which I thought a bit strange considering that they had not had much rain. But then if you use the new Meguiar's Nxt Generation Speed Detailer which is also marketed at their 'Waterless Wash' you should not have to worry. (plug)

Just got home from Dubbo. Had a good time yesterday. Shame there weren't many cars and excess trophies : By the way, one of the missing category's was the AU XR6's.

It good to catch up with some old faces and meet some new people from the Forums and the Sydney Club.

As we were leaving this morning, the police were at a hotel opposite the Caltex. Some cars I think were damaged in the parking lot. Police were going over them. Glad I didn't stay there.

I think everyone from Sydney got a Trophy. I think the special has to go to GreenRob. Fine effort handsome : Well except for JR who was only there on assignment.

Anyway, I've loaded a couple of pics from the day

Hi Bucknaked, Was not too bad a day with the Dubbo Club staging their first Show N Shine - it can only get better - Big turnout from the Sydney Club - 3 members and 1 visitor from the Forum, Justin, who also took out a trophy for his Ford Ute. Bucknaked was the only one from Canberra - we all won a trophy on the day.

I left at 4.45am this morning and had a good run back to Sydney with hardly any traffic to contend with.

Good company at the show and was good to catch up with some members of the Dubbo Orana Ford Club who are to be congratulated for their efforts - Just watch the pricing next time guys - remember it is better to have 500 attend at $2 a head instead of a 100 at $5 a head.

As for the AU XR6 Trophy, they probably had one there but were so disorganised in the presentation, it probably got put back with the overflow.

Ciao - James

hi guys...was a great weekend and had a blast meeting new people..specially Bucknaked from Canberra..was dissapointed about the XR6 category..was great to see the club take out so many tophies..with yours truly taking out the Ugliest Guy Award for the weekend..pity about the flies and bugs but once back at the motel it was great...2 beers and then sleep..a shame that Dave and Bev had car trouble on the way there but they did make it home safe after a 6 hour stop start trip back down to the Gong from Bathurst...great job done by Ashley setting up all the club banners which got us the best club display....will be making the trip back there next year to support the guys out in Dubbo...hope that more club cars from Sydney make it there for the next one...thx all for a great weekend...

Rob & Tanya

My young bloke was keen on a trophy. He asked me for one. Told him he'll have to wait. He said it has his name on it. So he's looking at the trophy, and says "See, thats my name, right there" Its just a shame he can't read :

It was a good time. It was good to catch up with some old faces and finally meet a few of the guys you only ever talk to on line. I think I will defiantley put this down for next year as a must.

They mentioned it was going to be across at the old air force base. I checked that out on my way home to day. I think its abandoned because one of the aircraft hangers was full of hay bails. :

Will be burn outs and will go over 2 days. So sounds like the planning is well underway.

Quite a few AWC flyers went out yesterday from the windscreen which was good.

Well mate, it certainly was worth the journey to Melbourne for you - great result. My team the Cowboys won tonight so here's hoping they go all the way. Put the BMC Air Filter on the car before the run to Dubbo - all went well.

Catch up with you in October.

Ciao - James

yeah it was a good weekend.
i'll definitely be there next year as well.

lucky i had the aerial on otherwise Ash wouldnt have had anywhere to hang the last flag.

it was good to be made an honorary FPV-Tickford club member for the day too.
happy to hang out with you guys for the day. was good.

maybe i'll be able to take out first place next year in the standard/modified ute class next year. i'll have the 5 litre in by then......so maybe the burnout comp will be a possibilty then too.....
