car $35,000 on road, purchased new stereo $4,000 installed myself wheels & tyres $4,500 lowering $ 800 extractors & exhaust $1,250 leather seats $ 650 steering wheel $ 186 Replacing worn one custom manifold $1,700 includes piping and install crow cam & bits $2,400 Includes install extreme clutch $ 800 short shift kit $ 300 xr cluster $ 280 with re-calibration re-spray $2,000 custom edit $1,300 cai, maff $580 Total $55,746.00 That's not including running cost and interest on the lease payments made. |

The car began its life as an 880,000km automatic ex taxi S1/2 Hybrid, Dual Fuel forte
$400 - Headers $350 - High Flow Cat $290 - Cat Back Exhaust $90 - Chrome Tip $2000 - VCT xr6 engine upgrade $1000 - Manual Conversion (cheap package price) $600 - Aftermarket Gas processor + install (xr6 ecu wouldnt run the tickford setup) $400 - Bucket Seats $300 - Reaphulstry vinyls and materials $500 - Mags $200 - Lowered Springs $200 - LCD Screen $300 - DVD/CD Player $80 - TV Reciever $1200 - PDA/GPS Navigator $1100 - Customised Carputer/mouse/keyboard/wireless internet setup $40 - integrated iPod Dock $80 - cheap amp $100 - XR Dash Cluster $40 - Checkerplate floor mats $150 - Rear Altezzas $250 - Front Altezas $180 - Bonnet Bulge $1320 - TS50 Kit $180 - Sunroof $250 - Paint + a Carton of Beer ----------------- = $11,600 in additions ----------------- Then it got stolen + crashed so I spent $2355 on a donor Car + $50 odd bucks on bog ----------------- = $2405 for repairs ----------------- The Car itself cost $2999 to begin with I found $400 under the carpet + back seats so deduct that I sold the original motor for $300 so deduct that I sold variouse other bits that were replaced in the conversion + lights + seats etc for a combined total of around $250 ---------------------- =$950 total deductions All up total cost comes to -------------------- $16,054 Total And to show for it the car is still in the repair process after the theft! Car: 1999 Series 1 Forte (Ex police and other owners) $7250 inc. new rotors and pads
Servicing $900 Roadworthy, Std. exhaust cat back, Brake fluid change, new steering rack and boots done at mechanics, misc. minor stuff. New oil and filter, done by me $50. Total: $8250. And a resolution not to take it to a mechanics again - the steering boots are twisted and split and they were only replaced 3 months ago. Last edited by dgb; 14-05-2007 at 02:19 AM. roadworthy+reg inc. custom plates $1300 lowering+ brake replacement $1000 Alloys (series 1 fairmont) $50 bits and pieces over the last 18 months $300 XR front +indicaters (not on car yet as I still need the headlights) $300 A whopping grand total of $3650 I am still a happy camper after 18months :

Started off with slotted rotors all round and bendix(front)/ferodo(rear) pads..
Now ive got BA XR calipers/rotors on the front. $550 off ebay, plus $250 for EBC pads on the front, rears are still stock. |

yeh i spent $1350 this week alone on just a new clutch and hi-flow cat for the exhaust, not to mention the rest i have spent on the ute

I'll be spending more this week ... new cam getting installed and an auto service getting done on Tuesday ... also a powdercoated rocker cover is on it's way as well.

In total I've spent about $8000. That includes RACV test before I got it, purchase price, reg and stamp duty, change of number plates (personalised), and full service and tune when I got it.

Bought a worked and modded Ba XR8.... near on 40k...
gtp brembo's 5k having said modified motor have an oil problem and itself.... full rebuild 25k.... in tears already! |

About 9k incl purhase price and minor cosmetics. Just on a month old. And.... just under a grand on fuel. Standing tall in the face of ineviteable bank account decimation in the months to come.....
