Did you sign a contract at the time of the promotion? If 'yes' then why would you think they wouldn't honour their commitment? I don't think you have anything to be concerned about.

The delay in getting your car may be due to anything; 'demand' is usually the culprit. be thankful you didn't order a Mustang.

As a 'Trend' owner, I'm of the opinion the wait will be worth it.

Seems like you got a really good deal $26,500 with the finance. Are you getting Auto or Manual?

Its was an excellent deal. I pulled that one just before Christmas. It was a manual.

Just now unfortunately from what I know the dealer has my car, but they told me its only just come off the boat in Melbourne on Australia Day and I wouldn't get it for a week at least. I just hope nothing is wrong with my car for them to delay me getting it for a whole week. Hopefully just sandbagging sales.

I got no idea what to do.

I have been told by Ford Australia using the information I have been provided from the dealer.
"Hi C, looking at this VIN it was released from the dock at Port Melbourne on the 15th January, it was delivered to a Melbourne Dealership on the 19th for the interim, and a truck picked up the vehicle on Saturday (the 23rd) to be delivered to Sydney. It is expected at [Dealer] imminently (Yesterday). We hope this provides clarification."

Yet, the dealer called me Yesterday morning to tell me, its only just got off the boat, and it wont arrive until sometime next week. What the hell is going on?

I confronted the dealer about this information from Ford this afternoon and they stuck to their story that it only just got off the boat on Tuesday. I told them as it was, that it left Melbourne on Saturday. It should have arrived by now. They suggested the information from Ford was false. That I should wait for them to call me, and they will call me once it arrives.

This is just poor customer service. I am quite annoyed. Why can't they just tell me as it is?

I think that's a bit harsh. They probably don't have all the information about the location of the car either. They, too, could be at the mercy of a delivery schedule that is not in their direct control.

From the sounds of it, your car should arrive soon.

sorry to say you will not do better with another maker who imports cars. The transport schedule is variable as is customs release and interstate transport. I bought a VW and the same issues as you just got suck it and wait.

I would believe that, but what Ford said and what the dealer has said was conflicting. But Ford could be incorrect. Its been a while of a wait, and the lack of information and changing information from the start has been really concerning. Which has caused a lot of frustration.

You're right, it will arrive soon. They have agreed to have it ready next Friday. So I am still looking forward to getting my first new car.

All has been sorted now. I am now back at peace of mind without thinking that maybe something has gone wrong with my car.

Just got the call before. Our Focus is at the dealer. It's registered now and it's booked in Monday to get the tint done. We pick it up Wednesday! Can't wait to get our hands on it.

Has anybody managed to download the Sync2 software update from the Dashboard through their Ford Owners login?

It is saying I have an update available but when I try to download it I always receive an error about their being a problem with the system and try again later.

I haven't even picked the car up yet and I'm finding problems...

Don't worry about the update. There's no hurry. Get to know your car first when you get it. From what I heard, the update doesn't seem to add much anyway.

And if you later on want to update, you can get your dealer to do it for you at the 3000km complimentary check up.

Yeah, no sense worrying about it unless I find a problem, just used to keeping all my software and drivers up to date. I have to remember it's a car not a PC

Just a few more days before

Hahaha, damn! Buy a new car and get your house broken into.
It's an awesome colour. Especially once the sun hits it. We have the paint protection on it as well.

That's Candy Red. Looks much better than in the brochure or online. Just like Magnetic looks so much better in real life.

Ford's Mustang inspired nose looks great on the Focus.

What no personalised plates yet?
Maybe BSSLZ4?

I have a pet hate, those fuel economy stickers on the windscreen.
I see so many cars driving around with them still on. Even some that are a few years old, don't they annoy the passengers?

Has anyone else noticed the panel crease line that runs from the tail light halfway through the rear doors?
I am not a fan of how it just ends in the middle of the door panel, makes me keep thinking there is a new ding from certain angles.
Sorry if once you see it, you can't unsee it.

This magnetic Gray shows the dirt much more than my previous silver/aluminium cars, more washing will be required. I might look into Opticoat or something, that may help.

Haha. No personalised plates for this one right now. Maybe later? Dunno

Yeah that fuel economy/emissions sticker didn't last long. All clean now.

Haven't noticed the crease line. Will have to see it now. Haha.....or should I?

Yes. Saw it the day I picked up the car. Thought it was a ding. Even now it's a bit unnerving. I guess, I'll get used to it.

I'm not getting mine until next Tuesday now

The dealer spent three days trying to locate the engine number in order to complete the paperwork but came up blank (all they could find was the VIN)

Their receptionist took it into her own hands today (probably sick of me ringing) and had it to me within 10 minutes. So much for help from the Sales guys

Oh well, less than a week to go then..

Is there a story about a dealer who extended the delivery schedule of a client's car by two days everytime they rang to enquire about when it would arrive?

why would a dealer delay getting paid if the car is sitting in his back yard? more likely the dealer over promised the original deliver date

That thought crossed my mind. I mean, how hard can it be to find an engine number? I thought they'd be really keen to get their hands on my $24,000.. Oh well.

Perhaps commissions are paid at the end of the month so they couldn't care how long it takes.

Good things come to those who wait though..

Guess everyone has been out driving their new Focus and not posting images.

The delivery was excellent. Worth the wait. A very happy owner now.

3 days and already 650km on the clock.
