$7k purchase price (dont laugh :P), since then, not including stuff like oil etc and basic service items, I've spent around an extra $2k on it (manual, wheels, tires, lowering, brakes, interior, stereo etc). It's not the fastest car, but i think it looks alright, and it's given me just over 80,000km worth of pleasurable driving in a reliable manner over the last 2.5 years...

i think his extractors are custom made as well, considering its a taller 351W

Yes mate, thats right, $2000, to the dollar......

For this I got:
* Hi Tek headers tri y's, with time spent on them at the exhaust shop to properly bend them away from the shock tower and steering column (due to the extra deck height of the larger 351 block)
* 2 x new 2.25in Catalytic converters
* Custom mild steel twin 2.25in system to just before the diff.
* 2 in to 1 Collector (2x2.25in to 1x2.5in)
* Single 2.5in glass pack straight through muffler
* Off the shelf 2.5in mandrel bent tail pipe over the diff
* 2.75in Chrome exhaust tip

Extra time was spent getting the exhaust to sit up high under the car (my request), as this vehicle has Super Low's all round.

The workmanship is excelent and the lowest point of the car is not the exhaust anymore, infact it is almost difficult to see the exhaust system when looking under the car from the side.

$2000 is actually a very good price for what was done.

Mike

The house is next on the list for me once the torana is done.

The torana will be my last toy. Any other car I will buy will stay stock except for the stereo.

Its good to get the wasting money on a car thing out of your system while your young I think. Ive just turned 22, I work full time and live with my parents so I can do things now that I definately wouldnt be able to if I lived on my own.

Im up to about $12K on the torana now, it doesnt move :P

On the list is another:
$5k for the diff/mini tubs,
$3500-$5500 for trans and tailshaft.
$1500 for the bodywork and paint,
$1500ish for the interior, then $8-9000 on an engine build.

9 second quarters priceless :eclipsee_

I'm just over the $6k mark including the car itself.
I try to spend it where needed
97 EL , straight gas , new paint (mix of rapid & devils yellow)
motor , stall , g'box , suspension , diff , wheels
stereo and other mods . ---- had the car 5 years

and I'm just under 17k on my XD
But that is 4 body 3 motor 2 diffs 3 tail shafts rebuilds
and 4 sets of wheels and other mods . ------ had the car 11 years

Well after some thinking, i got my first post wrong and left out some $$ spent

LPG conversion (5yrs ago):$1900
New Pedders comfort gas shockers all round: $350
Transy partial reconditioning:$1000
DIY head gasket replacement:$400
Reconditioned head from Bursons: $530
2.5" exhaust system with sports muffler: $350
New fuel pump inc. installation: $300
Other mechanical repairs over the years: $2000
Wheels: $1800 with rubber
Air intake: $200

So that's like over $8480 a tad more than my last figure, not too bad considering i bought the thing with like 190,000Km on it, for 13k now it's on like 285,000. It's probably only worth around 3-4k if i sold it now.

Next on the list would be Xr8 or Xr6 front springs, i'ts pretty damn high ATM ,3.45 LSD
Cam and that's all i hope.

i bought my car off a spraypainter for $5700 about 2 years ago.
so of course its had a respray and he put roh 16s rims on it. he also chucked a set of cheap extractors (motivators) and a 2.5inch exhaust on it.
I took it down the strip and ran a 15.7.

I then bought clear indicators $30
Used lsd which makes noises, but still tight $300
Wade Regrind cam $150 incl all shims and seals and whatever
got a free XH snorkel from THEHAT (cheers mate)
now runs consistent 14.81@146.4kmh so im very happy with the money i have spent.

also spent about 200 bucks on ricey ИИИИ.. *shift light, white dials, gear nob*
Probably spent about close to 1.5k on maintenanice tho.. Parts for servicing, new Clutch, New dizzy/coil, new ecu, 4X new tyres.

All up about 7grand over 2 years.

In the slow process of turning it into a drift car so theres a ИИИИload of money about to be spent on it :S but cant wait anyway hehe

yeah will be looking at reliable 350hp at the wheels dont need anymore. will be taking as many things out of the car to get the weight down.. custom made coilovers, handbrake mounted on dash etc, all the works.. still deciding on what gearbox.

Concentrating on my speedway car at the moment so ed is taking a back seat for a while
:p
