Have been thinking for a while of a Falcon get together at Broady HQ on the last day of production to support the production line people with a few cheers and some recognition of the work they have done.

The people that are hating on Ford because they will no longer manufacture in Australia really show their intelligence and IQ (or lack thereof).

Someone needs to organise this. Imagine a long procession of falcons from over the nation swarming to their birthplace before it closes its doors for eternity. And for however long it takes for that procession to pass, let there be no damned hyundai, holden, toyota, mitsubishi or barbarian motor vehicle in sight. If Ford and FG-X won't do a proper send off for Falcon, let this be the ultimate send off,for a truly legendary vehicle.

What about ford fans who hate GM, despite being a similar American company.
But then like Japanese cars and French hatches? isn't that a bit odd or low intelligence?

Ford Australia Hi David, we want to make it clear that Ford Australia would never prevent this event from taking place. We’ve reached out to the administrator of the event, asking for more detail about the call. We’re awaiting a response; however, from our initial investigation we can confirm no-one from our communications, legal or our security teams called the host of the event. Once the administrator of this page responds to our private message, we will investigate further.

A big Ford Only send-off on the last days of production has been mentioned in these forums when the shutdown announcement was first made.
I am hoping it goes ahead, I would love to be a part of it. Can't think of a better reason for an interstate roadtrip.

Great idea. While the Ford owners should be front and center, I think it would be good if people who have vehicles from any brand that had an Australian manufacturing presence were also invited to attend and farewell the Ford employees.

The same respect should also be shown to the Toyota and Holden employees too. Make it a farewell from the car community.

Maybe a board with all the brands that have been lost could be put together for the inevitable media coverage. Nothing more. A peaceful protest about what we have lost.

Oh good, so there is still time for Ford to act so he doesn't pull the pin on the unsanctioned page Ford have no control over that regularly masquerades as an official page. They must be relieved there is still a chance to save it.

Guys the Great Ford send off is a great idea, but the first thing you need to do is get the people from Ford on side. We tried a similar thing with an FPV send off and as much as some ford people were behind it, it didn't happen at Ford because the last thing they want is a heap of cars out the front and someone do something stupid that would give them a bad name Etc. The only way we got to do something was because of a very dedicated AFF member and his much connected friends.

To make it work you need to get to speak to the appropriate people as soon as possible and come up with a great fool proof plan and hope they like it. The other thing you could do is what we did and that's to find a nice place that's near by that has lots of space and have it there.

I think it's a great idea which I would attend if it happened. Just think ya need to get a few dedicated people to make it happen. Good luck!

We all seem to be blaming Ford, the government and the general buying public here, but not one mention of unions driving up the cost of labour making it difficult to produce anything in this country anymore. An overpaid workforce has driven the cost up of all locally manufactured items.

Great idea you could have Moffat in front with his XC Johnson with the greens tuff and Eric Bana with his XB and the list goes on
Now that would be worth getting out of bed for

I've actually been thinking that something along those lines should be done at the Bathurst 1000 at the final time the Falcon competes there( be it this year or next). A lap of honour around the mountain with a line of legendary Falcons and their drivers- Bathurst winners, championship winners and unique models like the phase 4 and GTF etc.
Something has to be done to celebrate these cars, 50+ years of history can't just fade away with a whimper.

I just went back and read some of Callum's page, I left there feeling dirty..
Most of the dimwit comments on there are scary. I can't believe a group of people can be so uneducated on life and business.
They are meant to be Falcon fans and they are ripping Ford Australia to pieces. Sad.

I used to quite like the Facebook group this was posted on, mainly because you'd get to see photos of peoples new FGX's but man has it turned into a real whinge/troll fest of late. Hard to stomach.
At least somebody, must be from here, has given him a spray re the about turn on the protest "celebration" event he was trying to organise and where he gets his info. Good work.
