After having a name suggestion thread deleted last night....I'll post my suggestions for names here before I forget them.

E.N.D. Owners Club of Australia

E.N.D. Series Owners Club

Falcon E.N.D. Series Owners Club

Ford E.N.D. Series Owners Club

I know the name isn't a huge priority at the moment but there just some ideas to ponder on.

Demonstrated where? do you mean in a thread on the forums such as just added a turbo? or shown at a public event?

And how are you going to proove they have insurance? ask for a copy of their insurance certificate then call the insurance company up to see if its current thats if they give you that information due to the Privacy Act.

What it means is that if you are going to showcase your car on the forums (as a "finished product") or at a cruise (unless there are different circumstances, but you would be notified about this in the cruise thread), it has to be legal. As for the height of the vehicles, obviously the cops are ultimately the judge of that, and if the car is defected obviously you would have to fix it.

But as you have said, if somebody has just added a turbo to their car and haven't gone and got it engineered well that is OK, as the car would be a work in progress if you were to showcase it on the forums. If you were to drive the car on a cruise, that would obviously be a different situation.

I can't say anything on this rule, personally I am probably not inclinded to vote in it's favour myself, but we are going to vote on the rules, so this should give people to voice their opinion on them as a group.

There is method in the madness I guess, assuming something bad would happen then it might make things easier, but I think that for cruises that perhaps insurance checks might take away from the fun of just driving as a group of friends, the way it should be.

Thanks for your reply by the way, we want some more like this so we know how people feel!

Nothing has been set in stone as yet, these are only suggestions on what direction everyone wants the club to go in.

We will have ample time to go over the ins and outs once a board has been established and then all of the rules can be made.

So I can envisage a few changes from what is being discussed as well as some things being kept.

As it has been said already, these are just points to discuss at the moment.

In my time I have witnessed a few accidents between members on cruises, although only minor.
I sure would be mighty annoyed if a fellow member were to damage my car, and then not have the insurance to cover it.

What if your car was written off, and the person reponsible said "Sorry, no insurance... I'll pay it off $20 a week for the rest of my life." ?

Just my personal opinion.

As for roadworthyness, as a club we need to promote the fact that we aren't about flaunting the law. It isn't our place to determine if your car is RW or not.

I Don't care if your car is 99mm at the lowest point, or your running 18" wheels on a car that should legally only have 17" at a maximum, or if it is a little too loud.

But if your car is obviously unsafe, then it is not a good look for the club.

I think this would have to go with an interpretation that if the person felt it would pass a roadworthy or not. Things like chopped springs, etc would obvisouly not pass.

As has been said, these are just first round draft rules to get the ball rolling, and I am sure this list will be different by the time it is finalised and agreed upon.

No worries, but i do not see how you can get away from e series, thats what you all drive, secondly I'd be darn proud of the name and not walking away from it, to accomodate a handful of others with a similar name. just my 2c

Well yes they are e-series, but you could also say n-series and d-series exist as well, so e-series is not actually as all encompassing as it might seem.

G5L, i am not privy to the current workings or decissions made, nor do i care, I do not have thoughts on either side side, nor do i wish to embark in the politics of the current situation as i am sure most see it the same way.

My only input was towards the current team working towards a new image and to that extent alone.

Then perhaps a name that isnt so closely resembling the Still Current E-Series Owners club would be more appropriate.

John it has already been said, that leaving eseries out of the name would make the most sense, while this may or may not happen it is yet to be decided.

There has been no name choice as yet for this club. There will be no decision on this matter until such times as a board is elected and other matters finalised.

I would ask that any snide remarks be taken elsewhere. This is not an image we condone in these forums in line with the T&C of the site.

This thread is for discussing ideas on where we want to go ..... not what has transpired previously.

Some people seem to neglect reading whats already been said so i was simply reinstating the point.
I very much understand everything said and done so far is 'planning' but obviously some things would be offlimits for obvious reasons.

Sure, i see your point and i accept they are similar, and to my thinking that was part of the purpose, so when people done a search they would find both options, nor would i be affraid to go down that path and present a better option, but as many have said no name has been decided and when it is it would be done by the powers / club being formed at the time.

This thread is about people making comments be they right or wrong but in a positive way, and for one minute i do not pander to people accepting what i put forward, it will be their choice and was just an idea, but for the record i would not be walking away or be intimidated by other people and their preferances or wishes if as group it was the direction / name they wanted to use.

Guys and Gals,

Can we please get back on topic. There will be a seperate thread about the naming of the club shortly.

What we need in here is your thoughts and ideas on what you want from this club.

I know it hasnt been confirmed, but why is the issue of membership fees being introduced? AU and B series dont pay fees, why would E-series need to?

I'm not having a go at anyone, I'd just like to know the reason, if any, behind the idea.

There is nothing saying that there will be fees but it was a suggestion bought up in conversations last night in the mIRC room. Most car clubs do have fees and I believe this is why the subject was raised.

I am glad you asked the question as this is what this thread is all about. We need to have balanced ideas on what everyone wants.

At this infant stage, all we are doing is covering all bases to make sure the club is one that we would all want to belong to.

BLC if we do have fees those fee paying members would be the voting people, those poeple not paying fees would be associate members, they would still have rights to post and stuff, just might miss out on some fee paying event days.

However all this is yet to be decided, thought about and voted on.

Thats how life works. Thats half true

I dont see the need in fee's unless the club incurs costs for events or admin etc.

I think if you pay for entry to the event, you should be welcome whatever your membership status. That said, I wouldnt be opposed to membership fees, as long as there are real benefits for having done so, not just board voting or elitist cruises.

Edit - 'elitist cruises' was probably too harsh, but you get my drift. None of this is a personal attack on you by the way, just trying to clear up as much as possible.

If we end up having to pay for membership per year. Expect that list of members to half.
I dont want to be moved around between these clubs, just to stay on the forums,(EDIT:: To talk about the e-series range) and end up having to pay for privelages..

scott that side of things will never happen

what we all should be happy is that we can have a club that respects all members for who they are and what they can or cant do

no disrespect for the other guys

For those interested about the idea of club membership fees, the conversation about them last night raised the following points:-

A small member ship fee of around $5-$10, will include a few club stickers, possibly some other small mechandise such as a key ring.

Paid members could possibly be known as full members, with voting rights etc.

Unpaid members will still have access to our forum and cruises etc.

Asking for a small fee, is more of a show of commitment, and will help in filtering out the Trolls/trouble makers from joining.

Possibility of building up a small cache of funds to help assist in things such as:- Club website, planning major events, BBQ's for cruises, club property (banners/marqee for car shows etc)

This is the general idea behind it, and like everything it is just being mentioned as an idea, for people to discuss.
Its that or survive on donations only I guess...

EDIT - What Wulos said... ;)
