I only just read this thread.

That is shocking lisa, very terrible indeed.

I am glad you and the kids are all ok, and hope you can start to sort things out.

Was talking with Lisa again today. Things going pretty well. The dog does still have its eyesight, & is healing pretty well, tis staying @ vets til Lisa gets a place sorted out.
Was trying to see if there was anything in particular that she was in need of. She has located another house, that she should be moving into by this weekend. They're pretty well set for clothing, & the house is furnished pretty well anyways so furniture, clothing & bedding are pretty much looked after.
I asked her about whitegoods etc.of which she said she had been given a fridge(though the freezer section in it is dead..) & thats about it. So no microwave, no freezer, no washing machine, no dryer.Nor other entertainment gear, tele, stereo, cd etc. No computer niether, but she did say she has already signed up for ADSL but that wont be available for a few weeks. ADSL but no computer to spend untold hours on AFF??
She was more worried about how the kids were(typical Lisa - more worried about the kids then herself) & that Zac was pretty down about loosing his ps2, & that Monique had lost all her saddlery gear. Strangely though she didnt really mention much about Steve......
For my own part, I know there's a microwave oven with their names upon it waiting here for them. SO what do you guys think? Any suggestions as to which way to go? Could also try set up an account for $$$ so that they may get things as they need them too(I got NO idea about this - Im sure others would know how to though)

Just read the thread. Lisa, I am mortified.
Please dont hesitate to catch me on the weekend as I have some things that might help - you can have them. (microwave, big upright fridge freezer etc...). I will be at Merrygoen at lunchtime on saturday if that is easier. Otherwise just track me down anytime you are in Mendooran.

I think that the only stuff she said she had left was a blanket & a bridle, though I will ask her for more details when I speak with her next...

Guys can we get something official on where to donate some cash to for Lisa, mods anyone. I have an account that is doing nothing but I am sure most people would prefer it be done by someone better known around here.

Hahahaha ... My fiancee and I have just done the same thing.

But that main thing is everyone is save ... as mentioned before the house is replacable ... people aren't.

Surely the forum can rally together and put together a support package.

We should have some stuff here as well ... OK ... might be old .... but hey .... horses need rugs in winter ... I'm sure there's an old saddle lying around here too ... bridles and other gear.

Well, Mods? Gary? How bout a donation bank account?

Hubby and I would love to contribute to this. My kids were so upset to hear of this and want to help out too.

Lisa, we have blankets and a spare single bed if you need it. Probably other stuff too but I can't think of what they are right now, I'm starting on the spring clean today so I will know more when I am done. Hope you are well.

I cant believe the response from you guys, it is mindblowing to think I have so much love comming from you guys.

Im at my parents house for a few hours so I thought I would say hey & let you all know that we are starting to rebuild. We have been offered a house in town that is old but is as I type, the wiring is being completely replaced along with the lighting as it was older style and the owners wouldnt let me in untill it was done & safe. The smoke detectors are going in as well .....

I will state here & now that if you dont have smoke detectors in your house GET THEM NOW!!!!!!!! they are the ONLY reason we are still here!!!!!!!! The one that was placed near the kids room was what woke Stephen and he woke us for our timely escape .......

We have been very generously been given a lot of furnature and clothing from our 2 local communities and this should allow us to move in to the house hopefully by the weekend. As Wulos has stated the whitegoods and little things like kitchen utensils and all the stuff we all have but take no notice of are what I am trying to gather now.

I have been in constant contact with the vet & she is very pleased with Chui's progress. He will be back home with us as soon as I can get into the house as he will need a fair bit of TLC to help him recover fully ..... Geee I get to spoil my pup more than I normally do ..... I cant wait.

So thats about all for now but please accept our thanks for all of your support it is very humbling to think that there is so much help out there.

I will keep you posted as we progress ;)

PS .... Roy ... I will try to get a hold of you as soon as I can as your offer is greatly appreciated and needed

Guys, It is really great to see everyone rallying around one of our members in need. Please be patient and allow Lisa to get settled. Im sure once she is in the new place she will let us know what she needs and we will arrange an organised collection for her. In regard to a bank account, please also just be patient and all will be arranged.

Lisa, from Xacoupe and myself, you have our best wishes and our admiration for the courage you have shown in such difficult circumstances. Keep your chin up and know that there is a very large group of people here who care about you and want to help in whatever way you need.

More soon everyone.

OH CRAP! I wish I had read this thread earlier. I've been flitting between this place and other things and not read it.

As long as you and the kids and dogs are OK, then everything else can be replaced (except treasured items like photos of course).

I wish there was something financial I could do, but doing it a bit tight here too, sorry Lisa.

I'm just relieved to hear nobody was hurt....my best wishes.

Far out...the things I have missed!

Terrible to hear about your house and possessions Lisa. Extremely glad to hear everyone is okay and that so many people have offered to help - just goes to show there is some heart left in the world.

All of us who know you through this site know that if anyone was to pull through something like this with flying colours it would no doubt be you.

Best of luck Lisa.

Lisa, sorry to hear for the loss of your posessions. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon.
Glad to hear yourself and the kids are unharmed, and I'm glad to hear that Chui will be okay.

Take Care.

Just thought I would pop in quickly to let you all know of our progress.

The boys have gone away on their school excursion as I think that will be a great distraction for them. Missy & I are having our first night in the new house tonight, Yayyyyyyyy.......

We have beds set up & will be up a lot of the night to sort through the stuff that has been donated so far.

We are astounded at the gifts and goodies that have been given to us so far & I really dont think thank you says enough for everyones generosity and well wishes..... that includes both here at AFF and our local communities. It really puts back your faith in human nature again as we so often forget about it.

Hopefully we should have a computer soon and I will be able to keep in contact more often ...... I admitted to Missy today that I have an addicition ..... Computers :p
