Any idea of Euro delivery dates..........

Also, in the flesh is there anything we haven't noticed in the pics to differentiate it from the ST (apart from all the important bits on the inside! )

I mean, different front bar, wing and rear diffuser, bigger calipers, but externally most of the rest seems the same, body, bonnet, lights, quarters,
or are the guards flared more so ???

pics are great, but wish they would do a promo tour with one here.....
It basically looked exactly the same as a ST but with differant wheels and a differant body kit and front only Brembo brakes, interior was similar to ST but a bit more sporty/upmarket trim..

Not sure on release date etc one of Ford guys said late 2015, it was on display at the release of the mustang with a few other Fords, but it was mainly about the Mustang...

I thought the new RS had some upmarket all wheel drive capacity where as the older ones remained FWD?

Thanks Waggaclint

Been discussing the colors with the Mrs (minister of WAR, and finances! )

She actually likes the grey or black, but insists that, it must have Recaro seats similar to current (LV2) and a sunroof (as we currently do ).

So PLEASE FORD, to keep me out of the DOG HOUSE ensure these are both available standard

(will pop down with my cheque book tomorrow if I can have it for Christmas ! )

Nothing on your website?
Pity there is still no factory warranty on them. I'm ready to go 275 with my ST, but refuse to because of warranty.

I was asked to help a friend with the purchase of a Focus , they have been undecided whether go ahead with the new spec ST or commit to the RS
We were lucky to be able touch , seat and view first hand the ST , and could only guess , what the RS would look like or cost . From the pictures so far , it's no 2010 RS , and very much in the current ST , but a bit more spunk ..
Price ... I was told north of high $60's ..and with the very real opportunity of $70's ..
I couldn't believe it , didn't want to believe it .. Could they be right , could the RS land in OZ for $70's ?
They 've always compared to the WRX or Golf GTi/R , so the market at below $60's , I would expect that the RS to be in the same price pool .

For what it's worth, as long as the AUD holds up against the EURO, I feel the price will be $49,990 plus ORC. Naturally options will be additional.
Now that is a sensational car at an awesome price.

I said it in another RS thread, IMO if these are under 70K drive away, I'll eat my hat. Brand new 345kw Focus with warranty for $50K? not a snowflakes chance in hell.

Where did 300+kw come from? Ford can think its a golden child all they like but its not hardcore enough to demand 70k+..

If they want it there just as something to talk about, and help boost the brand while keeping it on order only then fine price it as you wish. But they wont make inroads into Golf R and STi markets if its not within spitting distance.

Remember when everyone said the Mustang would be priced at $70k? I think Ford making this car global and needing to pick up market share here will be trying a bit harder this time around.

Have been doing a lot of looking and questioning.

Estimated first release to be June/July 2016

If it's over the $59,999 mark it will price itself out of alignment with the Subaru WRX, built on a global platform and basically being an ST with body kit, awd & more GO Ford will have to sharpen their pencil (Ford do not have the prestige or quality to charge like Audi S3 or even RS3 prices).

Will be interesting to see just how big that hat is Stefan

I've found a Ford dealer in NSW who will happily take a deposit, with all the out clauses if you aren't happy (with price, looks, other as specified) am waiting for the accounts approval

Still a LONG WAIT from the announcement to release date

I'm pretty certain my local dealer will happily take a deposit on a rocket powered Ford if I hand over my credit card.

Last front wheel drive RS was more exxy than wrx and dudes lined up around the block for one.

As good a car as it was and still is, they never sold all the 315 initially and dealers were left with some. In actual fact we were very lucky to get it at all, the last cars were destined for Ireland, but with the economy up the ****ter Ford decided no and sent them to OZ. Bit of useless info for you.

True but it was "limited" although dealers still seem to be holding onto some. Full time model means there is no reason to rush out.

Agree totally.

If they would release details on price and expected delivery I might put my hard earned down.

Or I can wait, test drive one when they finally arrive, make sure it is actually ALL THAT and if I'm happy with everything I could pick up one that someone else reneged on !

Honestly just wish they'd hurry up, the way its going I might get a second hand Audi RS 3 for the same price before Ford have one available in Aus

As I mentioned yesterday about the price of the Focus RS, today we have Ford Australia PR head Wes Sherwood saying the Focus RS would be pitched against rivals like the $52,740 Volkswagen Golf R.

It's a good day for all I say, when we can have a Focus RS drive away for under $55k.

It's not a case of whose is right or wrong. I believe we are all in agreement that we want Ford to release the RS at a logical price and make it affordable. After all, let's not get too carried away, it's just a hotted up Focus like the R is a Golf and WRX is an Impreza.
To price it against the S3/RS3, A45 amongst other so called prestige hatches misses the point big time.
Understand, like all of us, until Ford officially release the official price, we are just guessing to the best of our abilities with information we gather from various sources.
Let me ask, if Ford came out tomorrow with a price of $45k, would I be upset I called it wrong? Hell no!!!! You would be fighting me to get in the queue.

I have no particular interest either way as I'm not in the market for one, but I would think somewhere in the mid 50's as a starting point. I don't believe there are too many options like the premium brands have to push the price up, and as the other guys have said it's madness to price it up near the comparable Audis and Mercs. When you get down to it, it's still "only" a Focus small car.

Agree , with the Germans Mercedes A45 and Audi RS3 at low to mid $70's , I can see how the Focus RS , costing any more $60's . I think , low to mid $50's , is going to be it's price point .

There was a leak on the Ford US website that had the RS priced about the same as the Mustang GT. It was quickly removed but someone took a screen shot. So 55-60k here?

Thats GT V8 $$$$ think 4cyl mustang $$$.
I can't see it being too much over 50k drive away.
Remember that the Golf R will always be quicker 0-100 and over 400m
DSG FTW
