its not the engine temp, its the INTAKE temp. the air goin into the intake. that can easily be colder than the ambient temp.

hmm...unless you are stuffing dry ice in there then I dont know how that possible.

Getting IT = AT is about as good as its going to get I would have thought.

well there was no dry ice. i'd say it is prolly a fault. but its very possible for my car to achieve equal temps with the coating.

I'm aware it's not engine temp. But I'm saying, your chances of having the intake temp lower than ambient without serious intercooling or some kind of chilling process are minimal.

And the engine itself kinda heats the entire engine bay. On a hot day it can cause heat soak within the engine bay and impact on the intake temperatures for a car with a stock-ish intake setup.

High IT temperature has NOTHING at all to do with the intake system on your car. It's all about where the temperature probe was placed during the dyno run.

If your IT is alot higher than the AT, expect a power DROP if you run again and IT matches AT.

Most common place for the Intake temp probe on a falcon? On top of the radiator. Enough said.

How big is the probe? If they want intake temp why dont they stick it down the intake. Makes sense to me, as long as its properly attached..LOL

Dont worry mark, you at least have a rough idea on what you would have got.Once the problem is fixed it will do fine.Try not to let it get to you,you know how good the car is,and so do I :

mine only did 112.6 on petrol :( my at was 33 and the it was 36
ko petrol pump, injectors and the head gasket is leaking between the head and block.
but on the way home the petrol pump actually died!!!! still works a little if ur patient to sit there winding it over and flicking stright to gas once it catches. mine wont cold start on lpg atm but that will be fixed

But i was the only one to go home covered in my own blood!!!! nasty blood nose made me go early! and the aircon isnt working atm in the falcon.
