CALDER PARK 4/3/2005 - legal off street drags

There was a BA XR8 Ute auto at WSID about 3-4 weeks ago 3000km old ran 13.2 @109mph first pass. According to owner, Heads job only, std cams, std exhaust, no CAI and no edit or chip. He said he sent his heads to Sean Hyland Motorsport in Canada (still had ID tags on them), took 3 months and approx Aus$4000 including freight.
I would not have thought heads alone would give such a gain.
Would be impressive with a few bolt on's and an edit.

I saw him run the time, his engine bay looked standard apart from the Sean Hyland stickers on his heads. His exhaust was ford factory, std tyres etc.

He said it was his heads that were reworked, not exchanged, as the US ones are slightly different. According to him Sean Hyland is a world leader in Ford Modular Engine Head reworking/modifying and it was worth sending them over there, and I guess unless he was bullsh*tting me about his mods, he is right.
There was other forum members at WSID that nite to verify this.

The bottle helps out heaps and shocks alot of the holden drivers out there espically when you beet them, If use are wondering i`m using about 150 shot of nos and i have jet sizes all the way up to 175 and 200, but i`m happy with the 150. This way my engine doesnt pop.

I highly doubt is was just a port job.

SHM are one of the biggest modular shops in the states, the owner has written a huge book on modular engines which i'd love to get but cant.

Stage 1 head porting, exchange with o3 cobra heads which are the same Casting as our heads.
