I didn't think a falcon has ever had auto up...the AU doesn't.

EA-BF never had a power 'up' that I saw.

I know some late 1990s-onwards BMWs and VWs have auto up though.

IIRC its an internal FoA safety thing, dont know about US. I know it was left out of BA/BF for that reason.

Lack of a dipstick on the autos. From au onwards is it? Correct me if i am wrong and it started sooner than that. Bloody stupid idea if you ask me. You spring a minor leak and have no way of topping it up on the side of the road once you find out it's low and starts to slip.

the new six speed doesnt have a service interval.....meaning you cant even change the auto fluid. They are a sealed unit. if it screws up under warranty we remove it and send it back to ford.
not 100% positive on this but im pretty sure.

Yep and for good reason too.
Blind fold someone and take em for a spin in a leaf sprung wagon and coil sprung sedan and I bet they wouldn't tell the difference. No one buys a pov spec falcon to thrash thru the corners anyway.

What I miss, model differentation seen in the AU. Different grills/lights, dash boards and engine specs. I'm sure that contributed to the reason why the AU didn't make a profit.

lol, bizarre comment. I can't stand the noise of the e series lock, the later models sound light years ahead, and the indicators flash quicker which is better. And most e series sound completely different to what you described, the 'bawwwap' can go for several minutes.

also, how about leather that nearly looked like real leather? (eb/ef/el etc)

Yes but I have an XR6 Turbo Ute and an F6 Ute.... Bothe Fg's, Both leaf sprung. Both are made for fun, not mediocre pov pack workhorse duties...

Its only going to be an interior, front end & suspension upgrade as XR and XT (6cyl) use the same engine and box.

Not sure if someone has mentioned the passing of the electric sunroof or not.

Myself, I'd like to be able to go in & buy a nice brand new 351 Clevo.......
Also to be able to have the choice of options, not the paint and stripes choice packs of today.

Luckily I have the Falcons that I want, but a new Supercharged FPV would be nice though.

I don't smoke but ash trays
Parking lights on KC/KH Ghia laser turn them on and only the four parkers illuminate not the number plate light
14" wheels
4 X4 XW/XY utes
rear vision mirrors bolted to the roof (become a safety issue in crash testing)
Some GT models 22 gallon fuel tank
engine run on leaded petrol

A few things I miss (bearing in mind im talking about AU backwards):

Auto transmission dipstick
ABS not being standard
Coupes & Panelvans
Watts-Link Coilover RS V8s
Full style side Ute
LWB Fords
Being able to legally change the steering wheel
XF Digital Dash
Im also disappointed at the poor model differentiation after the AU (although XD-XF was pretty bad too)

What I dont miss:

Umbrella Handbrake
Polycarbonate headlight lenses yellowing
E-series power window buttons on centre console
I6s head warp & gasket blowing
Flimsy doorhandles from XD-EL
The EA
Wind-up windows (incidentally, ive had more problems with these than power windows)
Auto-wind antennae (My AU has this and i HATE it, the BAs integrated one is genius)

Thats about all I can think of now.

I'm pretty sure that started at EF. I think I recall hearing somebody complain about that when servicing an EL.

The 'auto-down' feature was fairly shoddy on them, though. IIRC it was just a relay which (if it got too hot because of the resistance from the motor) kicked the switch out of the down position. But they were nice switches, far better than the clunky ones in the BA, at least.
