Without wishing to be argumentative, I simply dont believe it. Computerised systems in modern cars for this use the crank angle sensor to evaluate whether the engine is still turning.
stop being an idiot. mech fuel.

it is simple and easy to do it of the oil sender.

There is no ignition so the rotating mass is doing just that rotating , no explosions above pistons driving the rods into the big end journals .

I went to change the oil on my suzuki cino g13B oil burner as the radio at full blurt could not dull the crescendo of dry big ends and the oil light was blinking on occasionally. I had previously mixed a tiny bit of synthetic oil with the mineral oil to glug it up and try to quell a little of the oil burning......... The stick showed full................ I pulled out the sump plug and .............nothing happened.... so I got a big screwy and waddled it about in the sump hole until I found....... the "molasses" that the oil had been churned into..... I loosened a mount and removed the sump. The oil pick up was nestled about 10mm into the gunk that now graced the bottom of the sump. There was an ant trail about 1mm wide that was still allowing a tiny bit of oil to flow through the pp and journals. I scooped out about 1.5 litres of sludge and replaced the oil with 30/70.......................... that was 2 years ago and the 'rattler" (some blokes actually believe that I put a diesel engine into it) lives on and somehow the synth/mineral glug mix all that time ago has slowed the oil burning still to this day and deadened, a little, the big end rattle.

I'm impressed that your daughter even noticed the warning light Rodge, most wouldn't.

I did drugs, booze, crazy wasteful behavour at 20 too Rodge. And just like I think you probably didn't, neither did my Dad. That's what made him tear all his hair out as you assume it won't ever change, but it will.

I have my **** squared away now, hopefully they will grow up too
