It looks wrong for the same reason the factory front end does. The original shape of these utes was smooth flowing, and I hate to say it, pretty darned attractive. I know US Marines who saw them and flipped out. They wanted them imported to the States as the new CHEV El Camino immediately! Squaring up the grill / headlights made them ugly IMO. That cannabalised FORD bulged bonnet just continues the downward styling trend. Suits me though, it may help convert Lion fans over to FoMoCo product ! (Why would you buy an ugly HSV when there is FPV ??)

That looks like the Territory turbo scoop nearly. Add some XR headlights and there wouldn't be much more Holden content left on that front end! :nutsycuck

what about old mate that has a WRX front bar on an EA/EB/ED whatever...

Would have looked heaps good if it was painted properly...

Its different, I like it.

I want to add something to the bonnet of my EF, looks very plain even with the tear drop vents.

Thinking of putting scoops over the vents, just to be different.

Don't like it? Don't look at it

Not a bad ute but if i was going to do that id at least make it a V8. There is a VY maloo ute going around near me in dark purple with a BA bonnet bulge it sounds tough and has probably had a fair bit of work done to it aswell the bulge is ok but Holden need to come up with some actually useful designs not crappy speed holes in the guards and fake vents in the bonnet, atleast the bulge is there 4 a reason as well as looking tough

In an edition of Blueprint magazine there were sketches of a FPV with the same design as whats on this commodore. I'm not sure if FPV are considering it or just included the sketch to make people think they are, but it's there.

I think it look great on the red vy ss. I don't know where the ricer bit comes from it's still got the factory body kit it's just airbagged with crap rims. I think it need the vy senator 19's that would top it off.

The scoop is nowhere near the worst thing about that abortion on the first page. The wheels are vomit-inducing

Typical GM, whenever they need more power or better parts they look elsewhere..

the bonnet suits i think (nice job), but the wheels are a bit glitzy imo, perhaps the alloy roll bar on the back, it needs something to break up all that color, but to each his own.

Agreed. Personally I have no issue against using visual parts from other manufacturers. The ute in the original post is a great example.

Wow, this thread is old. While it's here though, I have to say it doesn't look too bad. I mean, did Ford trademark the hood design? If it's at least there for a purpose I don't see a problem with it. The wheels on the other hand I do have a problem with.
