Yeah but why should Ford/FPV waste money on a traditional 'concept'. Concepts are actually that: they hardly ever make it to production. At least this thing looks like it will make it in to production. I'm still trying to work out the point of concept cars like Holden's Effigy (sp). Use that money to make better production cars - not pie in the sky, ego stroking, pointless metal.

does it realy matter?
especialy in not being so wild with big blingy rims and impossible panel details??
-Means atleast this "CONCEPT" will have more chance of being faithfull to what we areactualy looking and drooling over rather than a majorly dulled down version like usual.

Looks good.

Glad to see Ford/FPV choosing the much nicer looking G6 tail lights on the 50th anniversary XRs and this car too instead of those hideous 'Altezza' style ones.

Im not particularly a fan of this car, alltogether too much black.. But its a positive step in the right direction at least..
Id not be calling this a concept car, but more likely a testing of the waters type look forward at whats coming..

On the upside, its definantly a step in the right direction with ditching those ghastly faggy eye shadows from under the headlights.. Some bigger wheels make good sence as traction would be an issue with the new 5.0 s/c drivetrain.. Suspension tweeks are another area the FPV offerings were dragging a bit behind the competition too..
Now if only FPV could put in an interiour worthy of those good GT-P type seats instead of that vulgar, totally Fugly, generic, basic FG XT dash and door trims, then theyd be on more of a winner.. And if they made the ICC setup a bit more interactive and useable just to be on par with the opposition..

Oh and FPV still badly need to take a long hard look at how they treat their customers re warranties etc..

Is that enough to make me wanna buy another FPV and update my current car.. Nope. Plus, I couldn't own another black daily driver..

Exactly. It's showing off styling cues, and product updates that FPV is looking to change.

I'd like to see a bit more though.

From what I can read it's a 10% power gain with the supercharger.

Must be very low boost, only in the 2-3 psi region?

Saw it today and looked great ...... loved the wheels, the front and the stripes ..... always wanted to do a black on black. Especially comparing to the over cooked opposition. I wouldn't call it a concept but more of a "What you think ... ?" to the public for the next line of FPV's. Still like the racoon eyes and that's what I will get.

I suppose ... again .... the Super Charged engine and the increases in power was not what the public wanted after all. They should have just stuck vents, badges and heated seats in it and it would have sold like hot cakes.

I take it your referring to the 307kW N/A Coyote versus the 335kW S/C Miami.

Well, it is pretty well documented that most 335 GT S/C are in fact between 310-330rwkW. This is in line with the few W427 HSV which have been dyno'd and cost $155k. The dyno figures suggests that the GT 335 are badged are grossly under rated. 375kW at the engine is a reasonable estimation.

It's also exactly why the S/C GT just like the F6 beats the HSV in and around circuits. The margin gets huge once traction becomes less an issue.

These 'concept' modifications are a prelude of what else is to come.

Seems pretty clear to me, that FPV and Ford are changing and they are listening & responding more to the (potential or existing) customers.

Default HSV and FPV V8 sales still strong

Both Holden Special Vehicles and Ford Performance Vehicles have posted sales increases during a weak new-car market.

FPV sales are up 35 per cent so far this year and HSV sales are up three per cent in a market that’s down six per cent in the first half of the year.

FPV’s June sales tally of 132 vehicles is an 80 per cent increase on the month of June last year, whereas HSV sales were down five per cent, June for June. However, this time last year HSV was still selling its price-leading model, the GXP.

While FPV has posted the biggest overall increase so far this year, HSV has sold more than twice as many cars – 1611 versus 800.

FPV says June was the second best month on record for GT sales since the car was launched in November 2010.

Both car makers unveiled limited edition models at the Melbourne motor show to boost sales in the second half of the year.

HSV unveiled ‘SV Black Edition’ which will cover 225 cars – 100 Clubsport sedan, 100 Maloo ute and 25 Clubsport wagon.

Meanwhile, FPV’s black edition is likely to be available in a limited run of about 100 cars after the company receives customer feedback from the motor show.
