I did my refresher a few weeks ago, and our trainer said that defibs automatically determine if they are needed or not.
They are so simple, that when it is placed accross the chest, a light will come on if it is needed and you just press the button with a lightning bolt on it to activate it.

They reckon that even if you have no idea what you are doing, any action is better than nothing.

True that they are dead simple to use, and the training is bugger all but if you do use one and it all does go wrong it is really not good.

Anyway this is waaaay OT, time to get back on.

This character needs a serious dose of 'taking responsibility for ones actions'.

How does it go wrong? if pads are in the wrong place or there is a heart beat the machine will not shock.

The only way it can go wrong is if you use it in a combustible enviroment or in a puddle of water!

There is always an element of risk with these types of things, my point is if you use it one someone and it all goes wrong and you are not trained to use it you could find yourself in the poo.

As I said though, back on topic please.

This is exactly the type of attitude i was talking about in my thread. Some forum members think it's ok.Now someone is killed and another critically injured by an unlicenced driver and it won't be the last. http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11240408

And what makes it worst is that it's got phrases like "New seared chicken" and "I'm Loving it" in the ad. That is a monumental fudge up!

Surely a jail term is now a fait accompli.

(article with fast food ad)
Advertisers now are trying to 'target' their advertising... so that it is possible that the system picked up on the word ' Maccas' or 'Fast Food'... and slotted that in there.

If it wasn't such a serious accident, it would be funny, but this whole thing has me somewhat lost for words...

Yep, they'll round him up sooner or later, you can run but you can't hide forever.

It might even take a 'relo to convince him to give up.

A quote from the article on his escape

Police have also charged Randell with eight traffic offences stemming from incidents the day before the fatal smash.

Those charges also include evading police

So why then weren't they at his door the next day, this guy had obviously had a hoon seizure of his vehicle being that it had recently been impounded for 48 hours. It almost seems as though the hoon laws only count if they can catch you, or if they can be bothered to look you up at a later date, maybe they forgot about him when the fresh doughnuts got to the shop in the morning.

It clearly states that he is ALSO being charged with offences, count it F'N 8 of them, from the previous day, sorry but this smacks of laziness on the part of police.

Guess he wasn't innocent after all, (sorry for those who thought otherwise).
You don't do a runner from the police if your innocent, unless your Harrison Ford and intend to look for the one-armed man who framed you! All IMHO.
