Simply not true you idjit! AGAIN!

Nothing changes - you simply cannot read or comprehend. I noticed many voters who had T-Series among their list and yet don't own one. I also noticed most T-Series owners didn't actually place their car on top of their list. AND, some didn't even have T-Series in their list. So like you, you're argument is lame brained and ridiculous.

Totally agreed, although i couldnt see myself in a S1 forte.

As for my favourites...

XW GT
XB Coupe
AU2/3 XR's

Worst..BA i6 with unwanted noisy exhaust

Top 5-
1. T3 in either Venom or Blueprint
2. AU3 P250
3. XB Coupe
4. Landau
5. BF XR6 Ute in Breeze with the Luxury Interior pack and sports bars......... I may own one.....

The entire EL range closely follows...

The AU is the most underrated design there is. With a few proportion changes they could have released it today.

I'm actually quite surprised at that! You won't hear anyone say it isn't a good looking or tough car. But as you also said people do have their preferences and I'd take an XC Cobra over one for sure.

Some of what you say is quite right but this thread is about the best looking Falcon and there is so many other better looking Falcon models than the AU imho. Looks are subjective and is just my opinion but you have to admit that it was the majority of Australia's opinion too as they voted with their wallets.

My son who is 17 loves the XW over the XY. He does not understand the fuss over the XY but he is not old enough to understand or did not live through this era to appreciate the difference. To him the tail lights on the XW make more sense than the ones on the XY. He made this observation when he was about 5. As I said, looks are subjective and are usually based only on opinion.

Totally agree. AU looks far more contemporary than the BA/BF range.

1.FG G6ET

2.EL Fairmont Ghia

3.AU XR

Well said, this is also what I thought the point of this thread was about??? Not what is the fastest or what is the ugliest or what has the best dash or what has the best radio etc or which cars do the best donuts, just plain and simply which Falcon looks or looked the best possibly ever.

For me the XB as I mentioned earlier but I also liked the classic and elegant lines of the XR and XT for no particular reason as well.

External looks only.... i'm going post '76 because you cannot compare the older "X" series to newer cars.... totally different judging scale.

1) EB GT in Pearl Black
2) AU3 TS50 in Blueprint
3) AU2 TE50 (specifically TE with the stainless mesh grille) in Venom Red

as I said above, my choices were

1. XA to XC Coupes
2. BA/BF
3. XA to XC 4 door sedans

It was hard to nail it down to those 3 because there is so many good looking Falcons . The XP Coupe was another nice Falcon as were the XR to XY GT's (just not as nice as the 70's XA to C's)

The AU I think has come of age. I used to loath the AU back in 1998 when i was looking at updating my EB Fairmont. However I think they've aged well. I think if the AU had come out after B series, say in 2005 it would have been more accepted by the public. The AU XR and T series cars are just plain awesome. I've never warmed to the pre XP Falcons of the early 60's though (XK to XM) and don't think I ever will.

Isnt the thread about peoples personal opinion regarding their choice to the question

Is there any reason why others attack peoples opinions

Im sure those high on the soap box have made a bad choice or bad decision or even a bad comment in life

Ah this topic is like trying to pick who is the best race car driver ever..you just cant pick one as the method, regulations, technology and tools were different at the time.

In saying that, as far as clean good looking designs go the BA XR series are great.

Although the FG XR8 comes very very close aswell.

I like the AU XR styling more so than the B series XR styling, Ford dropped the ball with this IMO and made it look blandish compared to the AU, especially series 2 and 3.

Us Ford freaks might think that but the popular opinion was that the BA saved FoA's backside.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but in general that was the case, the BA couldn't come soon enough, boring or not...and thats coming from an AU lover/owner.

1) The XB
2) The EF - really clean shape, well balanced, neat.
3) The AU Wagon. (The AU sedan as well, but I like the wagon shape best)

The AU still grabs the eye, I don't think it has come into fashion yet.

Just a clean menacing design, and a good evolution from this..

I agree whole heartedly Polyal, my opinion is the XR series should have stayed with the Tickford/FPV handover. The BA did save Fords butt, a lot wasn't just the styling of the car but the other engineering that came with the model change. I was more commenting on the style of the kits and how much more they stood out on the AU, this coming from an ex AU XR8 and a current BAII XR6 owner.
