They're not hoarders they're entrepreneurs, all the toilet paper is for sale on ebay.

Soon to be replaced by “Minimum buy two packs” as they struggle to avoid holding surplus.

I went for a quick shop this morning and zero TP in our local Woolies and Coles. How long before the 24x7 production starts to make it to the shelves?

Aldi's Super absorbant 3-ply paper towels are looking better and better by the day.
At least they still have Kleenex tissues on the shelf there.

I’ve got stock of the Army TP as included in field rations.

In all grades, P60-P400.

At least there's no shortage of newspapers.

Our grandparents never had to worry about the availability of TP.

Yes, very true. I recently visited my proctologist, he took one look down there and said "There's good news and bad news"

Some of the measures implimented in offices ive seen due to hysteria are pretty extreme. I have a lot of commercial clients so i predominantly work in offices. 2 weeks back i had to sign a document asking things like had i travelled to china, have any flu like symptoms, all the good stuff. The last question was when i travelled. So concerns were high when i put down i have travelled to currently affected regeons, but releif when i wrote 20 years ago. Last friday i worked in a place and their terms of entry were similar, but i had to have both my phones sterilised in this contraption that made them smell funny. Today i was working for a good client of mine, she is the facillities manager for an office of maybe 1200 peoples. 4 floors. The hysteria means she now has to orginise individual packaged things. No communal buscuit jars, coffe tins, sugar pots, milk in the fridge, the cutlery draws are off limits... the list goes on and on. Its extreme. Surprisingly though, no one of the parinoid office people have bought up the fact each floor only has 1 male and 1 female bathroom so they may be handling the same poo ticket dispensers, taps, flush buttons, hand towel thingys, soap dispensers. And hand sanitiser is anti bacterial. It wont kill a virus. Yeah i get taking precaution and being responsible if you either show symptoms or get diagnosed, do the right thing etc, take your sick days and self isolate. But the at risk people are the same as for any new flu strain. Its not every person for themselves doomsday. People arent dropping like flys. Yes its not something to simply brush off, and i probably come across a bit that way, but common sense not hysteria.

Except the level of risk is orders of magnitude higher. I'm not concerned about my risk, but I am concerned about passing it on to my parents.

Popped into the local Woolworths today for some munchies around 10AM. Noticed that they were cleaned out of toilet paper. There was a heavily pregnant lady (very close to term) who was looking for toilet paper and could not get any. I was chatting to the Duty Manager and she was not impressed. Apparently, they got a full resupply of toilet paper last night, only to be cleaned out in a few hours this morning. Apparently, they are starting to run short of other stuff - not on the panic list, simply because their freight capacity is be prioritized towards toilet paper.

Shopped in Woolies and Coles tonight, same shortages as you found.

I think we now have the answer as to why people buy/build massive houses they don’t need.

Gumtree is flush with toilet paper related adverts, some not serious but many seem fair dinkum. It’s totally unbelievable.

A few days ago there was a small truck parked along the side of a main road selling toilet paper out the back....

Did you hear the stuff Coles said? Apparently in the past few weeks they have sold enough TP that equates to 3 rolls per person for all of Australia.

And that's just Coles... Woolies would be similar, then you have smaller supermarkets, then chemists, then department stores....

Once this is over no one will be buying the stuff for months.

There's still supplies of this:

If it gets bad.
Upon first inspection ... looks like a decent alternative if desperate.

Just been touching base with my crook mate, his in-laws are in the UK. Apparently they were skiting the other week, that there wasn’t a shortage of loo paper in Croxley.

Now there is, so they’re blaming the Aussie expats.
