I own my own car. My parents bought it just over 3 years ago, mainly for me to drive. It cost them $7000. I bought it off them about a year ago for $3000, so it's mine.

Yeah I have only ever had one loan for a car and NEVER AGAIN. We only just finished paying for it last September (it was only a $2,000 XF but it was lumped in with the loan for a computer and some debt consolidation).

The thing is, I sold the XF two years after I bought her... so three years of paying for a car I didn't even own anymore.

I always like owning my own cars. Sure, they're not much (I think the most I've paid is 2.5k) but at least they are MINE.

OK well now i own 75% of the ute... Not long to go ( : )

I don't like owing money either. I was VERY hesitant to go into this. I would never buy a car if i had to get a loan for more than half of it!! I don't feel very comfortable owing more money than i have in the bank!! Fortunately i have enough now to pay the ute off at any time now ... I just like having money in the bank as well : !!

My parents bought me the TX5. Absolutely immaculate when they bought it for me so technically they own it. I never claim it as my own. Cant say the same for it now :( Im saving up for a new car now. I want to save up about 3/4 and borrow the rest.

Hasnt taken me that long to save up and i still go out a bit too. My parents also said when i sell the TX5 that i can have the money because ive paid to keep it running and because im not selfish like my brother.

Im getting some money sometime soon aswell. Still tossing up between buying a car or using the money for a deposit on a house.

For now while my old car is still running mechanically A1 theres no point replacing it and i can save up the money.

I would though like to earn the money to buy a car outright because it would make me feel good knowing that ive worked for it and its mine. Also would make work seem worth it and wasnt a waste of time.

I own both my cars ... paid for them outright.
My previous car was on finance .. and was repo'ed at one point ... but i got it back and finally paid it off ... then sold it to a mate.

But from now on .... Hopefully when i get the next new car (in a while) I will be paying it outright.

i own mine, but i only paid 800 bucks for it - it was a fixer-upper. Imagine my surprise when I pulled the engine apart and found in as good a condition as the day it was made, after 265,000 k's and no rebuilds. Must have been treated very well. NO complaints from me.
