Getting ADSL2+ now. 8000kb/sec with 10gb allowance for $40 a month. Very happy with that!

40 bucks for 10GB..surely you will go through that..

I just have a normal ADSL and I think our plan is 20GB for $60 per month.

And for those people sooking about not sharing...please...my connection is not fast enough for me to upload at the same time.

Please explain??

Your download speed is seperate to your upload speed.

Upload can tick away when your asleep, no harm done.

Possible i guess, with a 6Mbit (6144kbps) connection downloading flat out. Got $1,649 a month to spare?

What speed are you on? Who is your ISP? If you have had trouble with your connection slowing down when you upload, you have probably not set your download client up properly and are using all your upload bandwith.

Find the setting in whatever download program you are using and limit it to a bit over half your upload bandwidth. i.e. I am on 1500kbps download and 256kbps upload. I have my upload bandwith set to 16kbps while I am using the computer and 30kbps when I am not.

When I use WinMX and I see a leech who has nothing to upload and is just downloading, I cancel their download. I only let those who are sharing, share my data.

It's not sooking, it about everyone benefiting.

Can anyone tell me how to convert a RMVB encoded video to an avi, mpeg, or another format thats readable with windows media player?
I downloaded a tv show and cant play it, as media player keeps coming up with a dialog box saying that it can be played but might not play with the format of media player that I have.

Any help would be appreciated.

You know people aren't going to just do that because you said and ask why, so you might as well post that as well.

Limewire is full of little nasties.
Nothing worse than waiting til u get to 98 % of a file and you get a corrupted message.
Nothing worse than d/l a movie, sit down with the boy to watch it and ... bingo you get a porno instead!!!!!!

Had a rather inntersting experience today. Bought a PC (I'm a mac user and I hae PCS) but decided to spec it with some nice tools, like Bit Torrent etc, not even done antyhing naughty and "Media Sentry" are already trying to connect to my IP via HTTP. (port 40???) anyways, I just think they are a bunch of knob jockeys.

EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD IF YOU DON'T HAVE PEER GUARDIAN, GET IT. EVEN IF YOU AREN'T DOING ANYTHING THAT YOU MIGHT NOT REALLY BE SUPPOSED TO WITH THINGS LIKE BIT TORRENT, they are trying to get you!!! ;)

They're all against me.... they're all against me.

Does this protect you from others trying to catch you out in downloading stuff from torrent spy?
