I see a couple around Canberra. There is a black XR8 I see most mornings as we seem to leave the same time for work. That supercharge 5.0 sounds awesome under throttle. Black does look pretty good

What's the go with this? Is someone building a custom FPV style kit for their FGX?

Nope it's an FGX style back end for an FG Black front end with some nice flares.

Well had enough of Ford and delays and the price rise so cancelled my order for the XR8. Downside is I wont have a great V8 but the upside is I will hang on to my 2012 FG MkII FPV F6. Not sure if I really lose

You're missing out, but that is negated mainly with the F6. Either way you're set! I came up from a BF MkII Ghia, so it was a big step up for me, but you've already got a potent weapon so not a lot of change.

They can according to the fine print and they did over $1,000 more. My dealer was up front as Ford put up the prices and Ford also took ages to uopdate the price on the Ford site and I still dont think it is right for the vehicle itself. Anyone who has placed an order last year or early this year before the price rise and has not heard from their dealer may need to follow up instead of getting a surprise at the end

No offence and all....but if you can afford to shell out the 60K in the first place, would an extra $1000 really break the bank?

If I was fortunate enough to buy a new car (and especially the last V8 ever); the extra 1K wouldn't kill the deal for me and that goes for the waiting too.

But just my opinion from someone who has never bought a new car

Saw my first XR6 in victory gold in traffic in Newcastle (non white cop car that is), was in a line of cars coming down a steepish curving road, stopped for lights. Lady driver looked chuffed, like the cat that got the cream.

In a sea of motoring mediocrity it stood out, looked special like a nice jaguar or aston martin sedan stands out and looks special.

Really weird how the FGX XR 6/8 can look somewhat malformed in various photos/close ups, yet in the flesh with other cars it really looks sleek on another level from the usual daily motoring fare.

Saw a Victory Gold XR6 parked down the street today, it really stood out from the hum drum other cars around, that front and rear are growing on me now .
Can't wait to get my XR8 in June / July, bring it on.

Anyone know if NSW Police have XR8s?

I saw a black FGX that looked to be an XR8 (quad exhausts) in the Sutherland area today which had a bunch of extra antennae on it which usually indicates an unmarked police car...

Hey Bob,

I have seen this exact car in the shire, it drove past my place black with external aerials, i didn't see any computer equipment inside like a cop car normally has.

Not sure though.

After months of seeing them on the freeway on transport trucks only, I finally saw several FG X Falcons. When it rained, it poured... in Geelong of course.

Not sure if XR8 or XR6T but I saw one set up as a radar trap on the freeway between Sydney and Newcastle, so that's a yes.

Yeah- sitting there impatiently waiting for the excuse of some motorist doing 121 in a 110 kph zone on freeway (dangerous you know- speed kills-except if done in the pursuit of law enforcement) to blast through the gears roaring down the onramp at warp 10 speed taking it to redline each gear....

As an aside- got a BMC air filter for my coming FGX XR8 - wow- the size-like a little bucket. Serious engineering - reminds me of the mining equipment- eyerything BIG. Makes me realise what an engineering beast I am getting.

Also got 2 herrod oil breathers, nicely engineered units they are.

Intercooler coming in a few weeks.

All this gear ordered with no FGX XR8 in sight yet-truly is a sickness.

Marked Green FG-X Turbo in Albury last month and White marked Turbo patrolling M2.
Have not come across any XR8's yet.
Only a privately owned white one I see in Castle Hill although maybe a power ford demo?

There are no fleet discounts on the XR8s so id be surprised if any Police departments get them. With their discount, an XR6T would be nearly half the cost.
