Don't worry, I ordered a K&N filter, personalised plates and covers, and some other bits and pieces months before I got my car. You feel like it is a sickness at the time, but then you get the car and it makes perfect sense.

I went auto with mine, is starting to loosen up a little. Getting complimentary service done in a couple of weeks, think should come out ok.

Couple of minor issues like with sync, when coming out of reverse screen goes to the phone quadrant rather than radio. Not sure but think alignment maybe slightly out, other than that car is perfect. (sorry Apples late reply to your post of the 26th)

mate i saw a black one , xr8 i think it was at bathurst the other day , it was coming out of a driveway and i didnt know what it was , i thought oh my god , now thats a nice car , what is it , as it drove towards m,e i saw a Ford badge on the front , and i realised i just seen my 1st New Falcon , just to make sure i looked in the rear view to see if there was VT back light similarity and there was .

PROBABLY THE NICEST LOOKING FALCON iVE SEEN TO DATE . PICS DO THEM NO JUSTICE .

NOTHING LIKE AN FG . AND THE FG LOOKS BRILLIANT . THE FGX LOOKS EVEN BETTER !!!!

Agreed, I was at the RTA...or whatever they call themselves now , picking up my new plates, I was parked next to a new Honda Accord, the lady getting into her car actually says to me, wow that's a lovely car ! I said thanks and so is yours! what else could I say. It the first time some stranger has ever approached me and given a compliment about the car I was driving.....

Hey Storm93

Isn't your car due for delivery this Month? Have you been given a delivery date yet?

Enjoying mine around the city and highway so far.
Complimentary 3000km service done.
Topped up fluids, did the checks and they conveniently vacuumed the footwell for me and now I am getting extra protective coat applied on it.
All my non-car friends simply say nice car and enjoy the spacious rear so I'll leave it at that.

I think the mechatronics unit in mine understands my habits now.

The issue with your SYNC2 is odd. It hasn't happened to mine.
Although one time the A/C turned itself on when I didn't even turn it on let alone set it on Auto before. This freak occurrence in my Ghost White XR6T never happened again.

Mine was due 30/05/2015, checked with dealer yesterday it's now due 30/06/2015. Been pushed back a month :(

That will make it 9 months (since begining October 2014) wait for a Falcon!! An aussie built car. Can't believe it. Not like the old days even if you built a car with factory extras in 6 weeks it was at dealership.

I hope no one else's have been pushed back.

Any reason why these dealerships are making you guys wait so long for your cars? 9 month wait is kinda crazy

9 months? hooly dooly, and here I was complaining about a 3 month wait for a car to be built and shipped from Germany.

I specified 2015 plate, was happy with may for personal reasons, not the biggest dealership around.. Being happy with may from the start obviously June isnt a deal breaker but am keen as to take delivery that's for sure!!

Its all done on the production line, so no different to any other Falcon.

I assume its all down to parts availablity.

Is it just the fgx xr8 that's taking a while or all Falcons? And what's the reason?

I also ordered my XR8 in October, expect delivery June / July that's if they don't put it back, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Think the issue is ford have assigned cars to dealers and not orders. Hence why some guys can walk into a dealer and pick up something off the floor as they havnt been allocated to a customer. This will become less common as floor stock sells and future allocations have already been sold and allocated to customers. Still though some one may be lucky to pick up a cancelled order but im sure dealers have a list of customers to call.

Guys who have put there orders in get added to the dealerships list and then if they were assgined cars from ford they will get one of their allocation. I think i was second on the list at my dealer.

The car alocated to me orginally had a end of May expectation but now pushed back to June... there must be an issue on fords end... either parts supply or less staff now so not being able to keep up with the schedule they have set themselves.

So all I can do is wait or cancel the order... for me I'm happy to wait as im lucky I have a BA F6 im playing around with. But for some reason I feel end June is not going to happen either :(

My smoke xr8 is currently tucked up safe at city ford Sydney all ready for me to pick up tomorrow. It's going to be a long night! Very excited!

I originally asked for a July delivery but the dealer bumped me up the queue to make sure I got it sooner and wasn't kept waiting. Original order placed first week In October..

Dealer was kind enough to pass this photo along this arvo too.

Congratulations! Very, very nice!

I would suggest to get Opti-Coat or Ceramic Pro done - the black is so much easier to look after if you do.
