The lights on the boot just look like an afterthought, whereas the rear lights on the XR8 chop appear more integrated.
Im with you mate, i never got this BMW rear end treatment. It looks like the boot belongs to a different model.

I wonder if they will do what HSV have done and offer 2 different rear wings.

I've never liked the E92 rear either, it's way too placid compared to the rest of the car.

The E90 rear was 100000x better.

Even if those chops from the mag aren't accurate, they're pretty damn good IMO, I'm excited to see if Ford will out do the magazines.

Again subjective I know, alas the tail light thing, but god I hope not.

I liked the wheels mag integrated exhaust look further back in the thread.
Twin exhaust single pipe each side please Ford for my XR8.

I was happier to see the Quad Exhausts - its a more emphatic statement that the car is about performance, and is the business. In addition it has basically become a minimum expectation these days of performance cars.

BTW looking at the ride height / ground clearance on the said XR8 above, it seems significantly lower than the std XRs, and similar to the FPV GT - hopefully indicating that the XR8 will get the FPV GT Suspension spec.

As much as i cant wait to see the FG falcon for the 1st time offiial release pics. Although i will be sad knowing this will be the last new falcon facelifted model to be produced. i quite enjoy the buzz the FH is producing atm but not looking forward to the reveal coming and passing by and then the next move by ford with Falcon will be killing it off.
:(
Hope FH sells in decent numbers and one day i will own one and keep the falcon dream alive. Much in the same way X series seem to survive. Although probably built better/to last compared to todays "throw away" society.

According to the magazine article they have not decided on its designation yet (FH).
They claim it will possibly be called FZ for obvious reasons.

Well that's a fair point, since "fg" was referencing Fairmont Ghia, so if this is a new model, it doesn't have to follow alphabetically to "fh"

I wonder what proportion of thw budget is going on chassis/engine tuning. If they're they're keeping a hydraulic setup theres scope to make it feel some in a way VF can't be with EPS ( yes ive drivenone- got back in my AU after and the steering felt better).
I hope they make the steering quicker ( 2.0 turns to lock ) on ecoboost, because it would feel complete IMHO with that. When I drove one I felt the lighter front end deserves a more direct steering than the six.

Shame there isnt a light action manual for the base six and EB . They perfected the T5 Shift feel in the BA, the six speeders have always felt baulky.

They failed to avoid Herpes Simplex Virus though... although "special vehicles" is pretty retarded on its own.

Could probably get some Feline Panleukopenia Virus action too if you're in to that kindy of freakiness.

I don't think driveline or chassis will be touched. It will just be styling and some new tech and minor interior changes.

I know engines won't be touched bar some different wiring looms.

Disappointing if this is the case. If they're chasing economy I hope they don't blunt throttle response.
I guess FG is a brilliant setup to begin with, room for improvement with steering though.
Also, do we think XR8 will get 245s at the rear? Or 275s like it deserves?
Don't see why it wouldn't be the latter, they've paid for the development.

I don't think the 275's will appear on the XR8. They may appear on a limited edition FPV but I don't think so.

I don't have any inside info, I'm just drawing conclusions from discussions around the time I bought the R-Spec.

I dunno man, it wasn't til the death knock they kicked out "R7" in favour of Territory.

Seemed to take them a while to work that one out!

According to the article the biggest mechanical change is the Chinese made ZF 6HP21 auto which will be used on all models except for XR6T and XR8 which will continue with the German made ZF HP26.
