Makes no difference of who buys from whom because it all eventually pours into a blended international financial market and the price in total moves up or down.

At the moment its up, for all oil in all markets.

Total production is the only thing that will bring it down

Seems to move up real quick but take a long time to come down, at least at the pumps

What a curious situation, do you sanction then shoot yourself in the foot with cost of living increases or do you sit on the sidelines?

Maybe we can buy oil from Iran?..... Oh wait they've been sanctioned too.

What about Venezuela? Oh thats a crap shoot too
Dementia Joe is already looking to venezuela and iran as possible sources of oil. Hypocrites of the highest order. Funding your enemies is crazy stuff, but nothing surprises me any more from these nutters in charge atm.

If you need tyres, do it soon, prices are set to soar. All the majors are soon to rise their prices.Eg:If you spend say $500 for a set of tyres,it will cost $750.Glad I got mine a few weeks back.

The extra cost of the approx 31 litres of oil used in a tyre works out to be about $17. But don't let facts get in the way of a good price rise scam.

Speaking of tyre price scams, do people know they supply tyres to OEM's for near cost at between $60-70 a tyre.

Those same tyres sell for retail prices of $300-400, if not more. I know they have buying power when they buy them by the million, but damn that profit margin at retail prices is insane.

They happily sell them at cost to OEM's because of the % of car buyers who go into tyre retailers and say just put whatever is on there from factory back on. It is enough to justify the lack of profit supplying to OEM's. Even it it's only say 20-30% of buyers who do that, it's still a gold mine.

Buy oil from India and China. Problem solved.

Sanctions rarely have their desired outcomes. I wonder how many other developing countries will wake up and start ignoring some of the sanctions, and at the same time stop hurting their own people.

Oil price at $101, I look forward to the servos dropping the prices as quick as they raised them. I’m due to fill up on Thursday, will be good to only pay $1.65 a litre.

Brent is currently $98.75 which is the price governing our region,
lower price is welcome but I bet they’re slow dropping petrol and diesel prices.
High prices in our corner of the world is just OPEC and oil companies piling on because they can

This was quoted on Sky news this morning,& also backed up by Craig James of CommSec.It has dropped something like 12% over two nights. It always (historically) takes a few weeks to flow through to the pumps.

Last two weeks that simply hasn’t been true. It annoys me that they still quote this as the price at the pump has been matching the price of oil as it’s been rising, but since it’s fallen there hasn’t been the corresponding drop.

Yes to tax if you follow the mums and dads rules. They have (or had) some very generous tax friendly mechanisms there if you knew what you were doing, much better than here. Makes parking fees at beaches insignificant.

Speed cameras, yes and no. By law, they have to tell you where the fixed cameras are, they are marked by squiggly lines on the road, and they can only catch you if you are speeding within that squiggly zone. You'd have to be pretty dumb to get caught, or be a foreigner

Yes,the good old ‘squiggly’,lines! There are warnings, but, there are so many of them(in very close proximity to each other).Just a real pain.Motorways not so bad,bit I still common.I was caught twice in 2015 in High Wycombe (Buckinghamshire) no idea we’re though.Last time I went back,I let the wife drive the odd 5,000 miles!
