Why is it that tv subtitles are imposed over existing subtitles or other written information.
Why is it that when I contact SBS about this they say ‘it’s all good but we’ll tell the subtitlers’ and when I send them another screenshot of subsequent subtitle madness they don’t reply ? |

Can't see that layer of rubber providing much protection for the little piggies..... But, yes, ear muffs are a good idea, too. My Honda is stickered as being high 80s db (may even be 90, can't remember).

this mower thread being an exception.

My Grandfather was blind but a stubborn old bugger, Insisted on mowing his own lawn, barefoot so he could feel the difference between the long and short grass so he knew where to position the mower. Wasn't the prettiest job but it was done, and he was proud of himself.

Note: I prefer to mow barefoot ... in Sydney.
In Central Western NSW it was not a good experience. Here in USA I am a city slicker, I wish I had lawn |

Why is it that, with the trend of hand basins in bathrooms getting bigger, the gap between the tap outlet and the rim of the hand basin is getting smaller?
I don't have big manly hands, but on some basins, even I struggle to be able to wash my hands together because the gap between the tap outlet and the basin rim is just too small. What's the point of having all of that space in the basin if I'm restricted to only using a tenth of it?

Look at packaged food. Not only do they put the price up, they also use inferior ingredients and drop the weight 5 grams every once in a while. Not all manufacturers do this, but plenty do. |

Seems they like building these new things to look at rather than use practicality.

Here’s one for your list - zillion dollar house and the lights in the kitchen aren’t above the sink(s) and benches so the operator is working in shadow.
And the walls are bare and sterile. If there’s art it’s from target. |

Bumper skins held on by 8mm hex nuts astride unnecessarily long studs. Why, why, why? The tail just sticks out the back of the nut.
It’s so broad a problem you can buy extra deep 8mm sockets with this stated application as their primary use. https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/p...chrome-socket/ https://shop.snapon.com/product/Long...Socket/STMML8A https://www.primetools.co.uk/product...ep-socket-8mm/ |

Guessing the extra long studs make it easier to assemble, ie you ca align/insert all the studs with no nuts on yet, and not have it pop out.
But I agree so many time a second set of sockets are almost mandatory. |

…that a new vessel of the RAN requires pseudo-cheerleaders at its commissioning? At least they weren’t wearing theatrically applied daubs of fake grease and carrying oversized hand tools as props.

Why is it?...that that story was marked as LIVE BREAKING NEWS, on news.com.au.
Could make you think it was important when its put in capital letters and highlighted in red. |

Why is it, that every other plumbing brass fitting I want, has become atypical? A 300mm bottom entry bath breech with tails is now not the norm!

...that people insist on putting an apostrophe before the 's' when they pluralise an acronym or initialisation?
eg PIN's or ATM's. You don't add an apostrophe to cars or clouds or pies (unless it is being used as a possessive noun). So why do it to an acronym or initialisation?
