Ok thank you. I can get a set custom made. Would you suggest the standard AU ones lengthened slightly? If so by how much? Are we talking IRS or beam here too?

Ok guys. I have started the conversion and started to tackle the rears tonight.

The catch is, that I got these calipers in a box so ibdont know which is left and which is right.

Can someone please confirm if, when the BF rear caliper installed in the car, brake line should be above or below the bleed nipple? This will confirm orienation for me.

Any tricks to getting the front left and right confirmed?
Thanks?

Common sense would suggest the nipple should be at the top but they do weird **** on Falcons that makes no sense at all.

This is also a live rear axle if that's worth anything. Can anyone who has done the conversion confirm which brake lines they used on the rear (live axle)

Just checked a picture of mine and the bleeding nipple is above the brake hose. I also used the standard AU brake lines front and rear.

That's great, thank you for that. I thought I might have yobuse BA lines because the AU ones looked short but obviously not. How did you find the upgrade? Thanks!

I just bought some Braided Lines of eBay recently and they were to suit the standard AU calipers. The conversion is well worth it. I punish my brakes through the hills and I haven't suffered any brake fade yet.

Anyone looking for a massive upgrade on the AU Brake Setup should check out the for sale thread now - have a sweet BF Turbo Premium Brake upgrade for sale on the bay.

Thanks guys!

One last thing. do the BF turbo Rear brakes have the Philips head securing screw in them? The rear rotors that I have don't have any provision for them? The AU ones that I just removed did.

No the larger rotors don't have them. Mine, I just drilled them out using old AU ones as the template. Remember you will need to countersunk them to accept the grub screw.

Ah that makes sense then. I was starting to think that I had been given the wrong rotors.

I guess it's worth doing? Do the BF+ have a different retaining system or just taken care of by wheel nuts?

not really needed, but I use it as it keeps the rotor in place when changing pads and adjusting handbrake. Up to you I guess.

Hey guys,
Just in the planning stages to do this upgrade to my EF sedan as the front brakes are average and are constantly warping.
Just wondering if this upgrade changes the front wheel offset to the post AUII offset.
If so, will fitting BA brake on the rear change the offset to post AU2 offset for the rear.
Thanks in advance

BF XR6T or territory rears (328mm disc) are a good upgrade on the rear. You just need to make a 3mm spacer to mount the rear caliper (it goes between the caliper and the hub mount) - everything else just bolts up. You will need factory 17s minimum to clear these brakes.

So I've got everything i need together for the upgrade. Decided to go braided lines front and rear instead of changing the booster and master cylinder. My questions is; If I'm putting an au3 front end on my au1 with bf calipers the correct brake lines are au3? Also if I'm putting rear ba brake calipers with spacers do i need ba rear lines or standard au 1 lines and do i use my existing au1 bolts for the calipers or do I need the ba bolts? Just want to make sure i order the correct braided lines.

Thankyou

I got custom braided for the rears. AU2/3 fronts you'll be fine.

Unfortunately there's no one where I live who can custom make the lines so i have to order from safe brake online, that's why i was hoping for a definite answer on if I need standard au1 irs rear lines or if i need ba rear lines to match the ba calipers?

Thanks again

Give them a call. SafeBrake are pretty good with replies, in fact I think they may have lines for this conversion. Its not so much the lengths, its the connections that are different A series to B series, if I can remember.

I got a reply from safe brake stating they dont do a line from au irs to a ba caliper so can anyone please confirm that au irs rear braided or standard brake lines for that matter will bold to the ba caliper?

Cheers

Yes, you can use the brake lines that are already there (or get some braided brake lines).

When I changed my rear brakes to 303mm I didn't even disconnect the rear calipers.

Thanks for your reply. When you say u didn't even disconnect the rear caliper, how did that work? Standard ford au irs is a solid 287 mm disc and single piston caliper. The ba rotor is 302 mm ventilated and the ba rear caliper is twin piston from what i understand. Either way thanks for clarifying that the standard/braided au irs rear lines will attach to the ba caliper. My apologies for the extensive questions, just getting my head 100% before the job is tackled.

Cheers

The BA is still only a single aswell, but larger piston and pad area, plus of course larger rotor to suit.

Don't know what PG2 means either ? But aren't you changing to the 328mm rear rotor (territory/BFGT)
