Geez- I jumped in late here!! sorry-

from memory you got a Playstation 2 gran Turismo pack too.......

I'd already ordered the first of the 220kw cars and then these came up- wasn't too worried cause they wouldn't give me fleet discount on the rebel anyway- but yes Rebel is series 2 only.

The Rebel kit was carry over to series III with the option of the Tickford kit- it was a Rebel kit but not a REBEL

BTW mine is a T3 Te50....... (series III for the purpose of the vote)

02 AUIII Fairmont Ghia.

Bog standard ....which means it's got everything

edit: I lied...it's also got factory tinting, towbar, spoiler, phone kit, bonnet and headlight protectors, and a fire extinguisher in the boot. Was there a problem with this model's boot bursting into flames?

Oh? I was told by a trusted source that in standard trim (ie *not* Ghia) the bonnet was an optional extra. As luck would have it my Ghia has a bonnet *and* bonnet protector.... ;)

With regard to boot fires, I 'spose that I could start a rumour about a trusted source who told me that there are many documented cases of AU boots spontaneously combusting....

However, I guess I'll tell the truth and admit to lame humour (re fire extinguisher in the boot).

AUII Falcon SR - Sept 01 - the best car I've ever had!! 64 000 kms and still going strong.
Also have had AUI Forte - the difference between Series I & Series II was amazing - Series II so much tighter and sits better on the road.
Also had AUI Fairmont Ghia - not bad but gave it up for the Territory.
Would love an AUII or AUIII XR8 as a weekend toy!

My opinion is not biased (see sig) :

I would have loved to have obtained a Series 3, then i would have got colour coded mirrors, cruise and ABS but as luck would have it i couldnt go past the one i got with its details.

As far as i know it was only a few little things as Smoked mentioned.
I took my mirror caps off and had them painted ... now it looks like an SIII XLS ute and not an SII ... hee hee

I know there is other stuff... im pretty sure that raised horizontal silver stripe on both sides is AUIII only, same with the side skirts, a few other things I can't recall...

AUIII wasn't affected by the steering rack recall... just things like that. The smaller changes.

Think your right, something about chrome inserts on futuras and side body skirting for forte. Couldnt recal it simply becasue if you put a S2 and a S3 next to each other, id only spot the difference by the badge and mirrors.
